Laura Wright has taken "General Hospital" by storm. At first I didn't think I was going to like her in the role of Carly Corinthos, as I had felt Jennifer Bransford had really done a great job. But, Laura has a light and a warmth that just leaps out of the screen and envelopes you. It's great having her in the role because she brings a 'niceness' to Carly - you really feel she means well, even if it does go awry. I never felt that way with Tamara Braun.

Laura is a Virgo with a Capricorn moon. She was born September 11, 1970...and in Washington D.C., not Clinton Maryland as it is listed elsewhere (see the Soap Central bio) so forgive the error on the chart and birth data above, but they were already done when I found out differently). Well, of course I would like her because I'm a Virgo with a Taurus moon - all earth signs. I'm sure if we met we'd get along famously, because the earth signs find a common ground in each other.

I would hazard a guess that she has Leo or maybe Gemini rising. Virgo/Cap are serious people, and so her shining light and sparkling personality come from elsewhere. She has a 'mane' of hair which could give it away that she has Leo rising. She looks like the type of person who would go out of her way to make you feel better if you were down; a need to entertain and make people smile. Laura has her sun sign conjuncting Mercury and Pluto, which says she's a strong person with the ability to sway people to her way of thinking.

Lucky for her, she has Venus conjunct Jupiter in Scorpio in her solar 2nd house of money, which brings good fortune and protects her in times of strain.

Currently, 3/06, Pluto has been going thru Sagittarius since 1996, and it has been going thru the 4th house for Virgos. That's a tough placement, as it really roto-rooters one's foundation and roots, but fortunately it's on it's way out, and life is going to get easier as time goes along. Uranus is moving into 7th house before long which cautions her to keep her marriage spontaneous and free and not get into any ruts. If she has Leo rising, then Saturn will enter her first house of Self at some point in the next year or so, and make events more serious. But, Saturn is the planet of reality and manifestation, so she can finally bring things into fruition if she works hard at it.

Chinese Astrology: Laura was born in the Year of the Dog and the month of the Snake. Women born in the year of the Dog are usually friendly but reserved until they get to know you. They aren't about to proffer their heart before they know they can trust you. Born in the month of the Snake, she seeks approval and rejects it at the same time. Snake people dearly want acceptance, but most aren't going to give everything up to get it. They have a line, and when it's crossed, there is no going back. They have a need to be right, because they have a perfectionist streak, and will work hard to achieve it. In the 5 element system on which acupuncture is based, the Dog relates to the circulation of the body as well as the pericardium; the sac that protects the heart; thus the Dog protects the native from the slings and arrows of heart ache. The Snake relates to the Spleen, and she can have sugar imbalances.

Welcome to Laura Wright as she becomes an integral part of GH. I had never seen her before in her previous soap roles, so this is a nice experience to see her take over the role of Carly, make it her own, and take her in new directions.
