With sadness, we report the passing of Ed Mallory, the original "Bill Horton" and a mainstay of "Days of Our Lives" for a long time. He died April 4th, 2007, in his home town of Cumberland, Maryland. I searched the net but couldn't find a picture.

Ed was born on June 14, 1930. He has a Gemini sun and Capricorn moon. Capricorn isn't the greatest place for the moon to be, as it tends to make the emotions more practical; they may not be lovey dovey, but they'll make sure you have food on the table and your hair is cut. So many actors are Geminis because they have almost a photographic memory, and learning lines is easy for them.

Mercury and Pallas are together in the 12th solar house, which would indicate he had a highly intelligent mind. Venus and Pluto together gave him a very intense, powerful love nature, particularly in Cancer, so that would help to neutralize some of the more objective aspects of the linear rational Mercury/Pallas, and practical Capricorn moon..... the latter probably aided the timing of the delivery of his lines on camera.

Jupiter was close to the Sun in Gemini at his birth, so it brought him luck and tended to mollify other, more stressful aspects.

From a Chinese Astrology perspective, he was born in the Year of the Horse, so being in relationship was important to him, and he was born in the month of the Tiger, so there was a natural inclination to be on stage.

It's interesting to read the IMDB account of Mallory's life....It's like 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon....in this instance, 6 Degrees of Ed Mallory.

Ed was originally married to Joyce Bulifant, from 1969-1974; they had one child, John. Joyce was an ebullient actress with great comedic skills. She was first married to James MacArthur - of "Hawaii 5-0" fame - and thus became Helen Hayes' daughter-in-law. Then she married Mallory, and after that marriage, she married William Asher, a director, who had previously been married to Elizabeth Montgomery - of "Betwitched" fame - and before that, Dani Sue Nolan, an actress whom I remember from westerns in the early 50's. Bulifant later married actor Roger Perry.

After his divorce to Bulfiant, Mallory's son, John, was adopted by Asher. Ed then married Suzanne Zenor who played his daughter-in-law, Margo, on the show. His son, John, was recently married and divorced from Jenny McCarthy! It's just a Who's Who of Hollywood!
