Kari Wuhrer left her role as "Reese Marshall" in November of 2005. She had created an indelible character and had a hot chemistry with "Sonny", and then all of a sudden she was gone. We didn't know at the time that a) she was pregnant in real life and b) ABC let her go. Now, she is suing ABC, citing discrimination, among other things. She's also suing for about $1 million in punitive damages.

Before we get into the astrological aspects of this experience, let's look at her birth chart. Kari was born on April 28, 1967 in Brookfield, Connecticut. She has a Taurus Sun and Capricorn moon. Those are both solid signs who need money and security. It would also say that without other factors (Venus in Gemini may help) that she must do a lot of exercise and activity to keep her figure so trim. Venus in Gemini helps to make her more quick and agile. Gemini is always good in an actor's chart to aid memorization because Gemini rules the mind.

The trine between the sun and moon would indicate her parents were compatabile and in tune when she was born. It would also say she is drawn to Virgos, who fill out a grand trine for her in earth signs. The asteroid, Pallas Athene, in the same general area as the sun quickens her Taurus mind, and Jupiter in Cancer in the 4th house would give her a foundation of good luck.

Pluto and Uranus in Virgo, square Venus at birth, deepens her love nature, drawing to her intense experiences with the opposite sex.....energy which the powers that be probably drew upon in Reese's relationship with Sonny......boring guys need not apply.

Being a woman born in the late 60's and acting on General Hospital doesn't seem to be a good fit of late. Jennifer Bransford was let go as Carly (who was born December 2, 1967 or 68), and then right on her heels, Kari Wuhrer is terminated. Previous to that, Lesli Kay (Lois) became pregnant and her role was phased out....she's now on a CBS soap. So, what's going on in the charts of these women which is bringing about this power struggle with ABC???

Supposedly, after Kari advised them she was pregnant, they came up with a report that obstensibly showed that she wasn't sexy and had no chemistry with the Sonny Corinthos character....that hardly sounds credible. I thought she had great chemistry with Sonny (Maurice Benard) .....certainly they made a great couple, while this "Emily" & "Sonny" pairing is just ridiculous. You want to see a couple with no chemistry? Look to Emily and Sonny.

Primarily, Wuhrer, Bransford and Kay are in their Pluto square. Pluto moves so slowly (it takes 247 years to go round the zodiac) that the critical aspects of Pluto occur, when it conjuncts, squares or opposes a planet, and most particuarly, when it moves 90 degrees away from its place at birth, and creates a square position to itself. It's a time to bring up all the power struggles and issues of one's life so far, and play them out again; this time with different actors 'in the roles'. Maybe it was dad, maybe it was mom, maybe it was a teacher or a minister....or even an older sibling, but somehow we get to see the energy played out again, and this time we have to remember we're adults now and not that child that incurred those experience oh so long ago. It's a time where power seeks to crush us, and we are tested to turn into impurvisious diamonds, or be crushed under the heels of those in power.

Those born in the late 60's also have another problem....well, a couple of them. Pluto was conjunct with Uranus, and Saturn was in Pisces with Chiron opposed to the Pluto/Uranus duo.,This adds intensity and amps up the need for control on the other side. It also extends the duration of the Pluto square. In Kari's case, Pluto is a bit past her Pluto square, but still in orb wih Uranus. On the other end, Saturn had moved to Aries in her birthchart, but Chiron is still there in Pisces - indicating some sort of masculine wounding.

Kari may be more willing to take on the powers that be because she is a Taurus, and Mars has been hanging around Taurus for about 6 months. The fiery planet usually shoots thru a sign in a couple of months, but once during it's 2 1/2 year circle of the zodiac, it goes retrograde for a spell. This time, in Taurus, it's been particularly testy. As the new year of 2006 commences, we find that Neptune is in Aquarius, Jupiter is in Scorpio, Saturn is in Leo (creating a T square of contention) of the outlying planets that move so slowly....then, Mars, instead of flying thru Taurus, slugs along in tandem filliing out the T square to make it a grand cross (each planet 90 degrees apart from the next one, all the way around making one feel like they're in a straight jacket, with no way out), ticking off these planets like a pin ball machine, and creating anger and ire and a desire to fight back.

An interesting sidenote, is that Pluto and Uranus are in Kari's solar 5th house of children at birth, and her pregnancy seems to be the issue here, as far as she's concerned. Pluto is currently in her 8th house of inheritance, alimony....and I would suspect, money from law cases in this instance. If the law suit takes a long time, and Pluto gets into Capricorn in 2008 meeting up with her Cap moon, it could all be in her favor, depending on other factors at the time.

CHINESE ASTROLOGY: Kari was born in the Year of the Sheep and the month of the Ox. The Sheep has to be careful to associate with the right people and not get lured into relationships of those of dubious merit. She needs to act up and above board, and not try to cover for others who can draw her down into their miire. This lawsuit needs to be of her own desire, and not be used by someone else, like Paula Jones in the Clinton case. The Ox likes predictability. It likes comfort and food and real estate. It likes the good life,, and the Ox usually has someone in her life who's willing to give it to her, as long as she plays by the rules and stays close. At some point, the Ox feels angry and frustrated and wants to break free and go off on her own, regardless of what she has to leave behind.

Kari's baby is due in April; maybe it's time to be mommy,now. As a Sheep, she needs to be careful, like Melissa Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie; SAG president), who was so stressed fighting a tabloid when she was pregnant, that there were problems with the pregnancy.

Kari was a credit to General Hospital, and some soap is going to get a very talented actress and hot commodity when she's ready to go back to work.
