After slightly less than 4 years, Dan Gauthier has been released from "One Life to Live"...because the focus groups decreed that they didn't like the character of Kevin.....well, is that his fault? The reason, I'm sure, that 'they' didn't like the character, is that he's been changed by the writers to fit the whims of the storyline. There is no consistency there. When he's a good guy he's 100% good guy, and when he's a jerk, he's 100% jerk....simply to fit the whiles of the writers. They do the same thing with Antonio. That's why OLTL is my least favorite show of the 3 abc soaps. There is a lack of honoring the character and staying with it. It was not Dan Gauthier that sunk Kevin, but the writers who couldn't decide who he was, and kept bastardizing him. Too bad, Dan was a great addition to the show.
But, Dan's a Sag, and Pluto's been moving thru Sag now for 11 years, calling him to reach deep inside and find out who he is at the core of his being by the events around him. Dan was born on December 2nd, 1963, in Prinville, Oregon. He has a Sag sun and a Cancerian moon, if he was born at sunrise or beyond on that day. That's a hard combination. The Sag sun has itchy feet that wants to travel, while the Cancerian moon wants to stay home. Probably says, though, that once he's on the road he can make anywhere he hangs his hat his home.
Mars in Sag, accompanied by Mercury, indicates that he's a sports enthusiast, and it is reported on the IMDB that he went out for track before being bitten by the acting bug. Certainly, Mars, the planet of action and sports, in the sign of Sag, one of the sports signs, would indicate that he probably would have had a career in sports should he have desired to do so. In this solar chart, Mars is also in the 1st house, which again is a signature for a person who excels in sports.
In 1963, Uranus was moving in to conjunct Pluto in 1966, and on this date it's squaring the sun sign. It gives him a strong, dominant personality, and indicates he may have had to develop it because of a domineering person in his life while he was growing up. There can be a push-pull between wanting to be in control, and not liking those who would control.
This year, 2006, Dan has Saturn moving in to oppose his Saturn; a time when he's more likely than not to be challenged by those in authority. Saturn is in his solar 9th house, though, so his desire to travel (it's been said Sags work just long enough to get enough money to go somwhere!) has had its wings clipped.....there can be more practical things that need to be done now.
Along with Saturn, Pluto is moving in to conjunct Mercury and Mars. Pluto is always about a 5 year buildup, so this has been in the works for his entire trip at One Life. Mercury is communication, and Pluto moving over it can say that there is someone in his midst who may have been working against him, manipulating and controlling a situation thru words....stirring him up, or undermining his self esteem. It is reminding him of something that happened in and around 1970-71 when Pluto in Virgo squared these planets in Sag...a similar scenario is being played out with different 'actors' in the real roles, but the energy is replaying itself and this time he gets to handle it as an adult not a kid. The trick is to remember that. It's been said that Richard Nixon handled Watergate the way he had to handle his father to survive. Here, too, someone was doing mind games when Dan was about 8, and it's time to release that emotional baggage.
As it conjuncts Mercury, Pluto is following it by conjuncting Mars......there is a male in the picture who may be doing the undermining. Saturn trines Pluto once next year, which will give him the opportunity to be seen by someone in authority who will be predisposed to help him with his career. Jupiter also conjuncts Pluto in Sag next year, so while we regret to see Dan leave One Life, the possibility of better things on the horizon is more than possible. Jupiter will move over his Sag planets next year, culminating with Pluto at the end of the year, turning the spotlight on each planet and giving him the opportunity to take what he established on One Life and do something even better. It's always sad to see a favorite actor leave a show, but sometimes it's for a higher purpose.
