Aries

BORN IN GEMINI:

You love to be on the go...and if you have a phone in your ear while you're on the road, you're in bliss! Whoever invented the cellular phone had to be a Gemini on a crawling freeway! The Gemini mind is always thinking, planning, strategizing. As an exercise, try not thinking about anything for a minute - put your thoughts in neutral and don't think about anything.....bet it drives you nuts! I'm a Virgo with Aquarius rising and Uranus in Gemini.....gets to me in a hurry! But it is good to give the ol' gray matter a break once in awhile!

As a Gemini, you are interested in mental pursuits. You can be glib and often get into occupations such as a dj on the radio, or other jobs where you do a lot of communicating. Some of the quieter Gems put their communication skills to writing...ad copy, editing, etc. It's hard for you to be in relationship, because you like to be footloose and fancy free. Gems often have some Cancer planets and then there is a real dichotomy between being very logical, linear at times, and then something can push an emotional button and you're 'gone' for a spell, steeped in the emotion of it all. Give you an hour or two...or maybe a day....and you're back in the Mr. Spock mode.

2008 dawns....and we're starting the 9th year of the new millennium....doesn't it feel like it was just yesterday we were worrying about Y2K and whether our whole computer system would crash when the number 2 came up and the computers weren't programmed for it! Well, that never happened, as so many other things we were afraid of, didn't happen in the ensuing years. It's also been 6 years since 9/11.....that seems only a year or so ago, as well. Time seems to be going faster these days, or is it just us? Another year is here to learn our lessons on this earth plane, which seems to be just one large school room of experiences. Astrology is good for us to 'peak at the questions on the test' and get an idea what we need to study for in the year ahead.

2008 - a number 1 year in numerology...or you can look a it as the 9th year of the new millennium. The Number 1 year sees new beginnings...we wiped up what had been hanging fire last year, and now we're ready to strike out and get something done. If we look at it as the 9th year of the millennium, then we see what we've done for the past 8 years, and play a behind-the-scenes game, finishing up, before we start on the second 10 years. See Joe Ivory's take on how the year will pertain to you by clicking here.

Mercury
Mercury retrogrades 3 times this year:

January 28th - February 19th: Aquarius
May 26 - June 19th: Gemini
September 24th - October 15th : Libra

- Mercury retrograde (any retrograde) can be likened to two trains on parallel tracks going at the same speed. When one starts to move faster, the other one 'seems' to be going backwards.

Pluto starts at 29 degrees of Sag, goes retrograde on April 2nd at 1 of Capricorn; goes direct on September 9th at 28 degrees, and ends December at 1 degree of Capricorn.

Neptune begins the year at 20 degrees of Aquarius. It retrogrades on May 26th at 24 degrees. It goes direct on November 2nd at 21 degrees, and ends the year at 22 of Aquarius.

Uranus starts at 15 of Pisces, retrogrades on June 26th at 22, and then goes direct on November 27th at 18 degrees, and winds up at 19 degrees by the end of the year.

Saturn commences at 8 of Virgo retrograde at the beginning of the year, retros to 1 degree on May 3rd, and goes direct at 1 degree, and then retros again December 31st at 21 of Virgo.

Jupiter starts the year at 3 degrees of Cap, retrogrades on May 9th at 22 degrees, goes direct on September 8th at 12 degrees and ends the year at 28 degrees.

Mars begins the year at 29 of Gemini Rx, moves into Cancer on March 5th, moves into Leo on May 10th, then to Virgo on July 2nd, Libra on August 20th, Scorpio on October 5th, Sag on November 17th, and Capricorn on December 28th.

February solar eclipse THE ECLIPSES

(Disregard the house placements - they'll change due to location)

There are usually two eclipses a year....once in awhile a third sneaks in at the end of the year when there's a Capricorn eclipse. The first this year occurs on February 6, 2008, at 7:44 pm, PST, with a stellium of planets in Aquarius (more than 3 in the same sign). The eclipse shows up in the middle of the Neptune-Chiron conjunction, sure to look at some wounds that we've been trying to ignore. Mercury is the planet behind the eclipse, so technically the 'charged' planet for the 6 month period, but being in the middle of this Nep/Chiron conjunction, which has been hanging around and will stay close to each other til 2014 (!) it's sure to show us what this combo is all about. Chiron is the planetoid of the 'wounding' and Neptune is highly spiritual, yet fanciful sign, that doesn't like to look at reality. The conjunction last occured in 1945, so those who are of that age will be revisiting the time when someone convinced you, perhaps, of a reality that was not true, and you built your life on that premise. Just like the bridge collapsed in Minneapolis, our finite foundations have cracks in them, and the truth is going to come to the surface. And, just as the bridge pancaked to the ground, and most of the people got off - it can be done in a fairly gentle manner. Chiron squared Neptune in 1953, opposed it in 1990, and squared it again in 1997...so natives born around then will also have the opportunity to see what someone may have 'snowed' them about, and it's really not true. Always know that this does not have to be frightening....in EFT and hypnotherapy we always say that if this needs to be known it can be done safely, gently, kindly and easily.

We have a YOD going on here, with Venus at 17 of Capricorn and the eclipse at 17 of Aquarius, and Uranus at 16 of Pisces, the 'answer', with the Yod pointing at Leo, is in the ego, in our hands, to move from the finite-ness of Capricorn and move into transcendental thought of Aquarius and Pisces.

In the Chinese overlay, Venus is in the Cat/Lg Intestine area, the Yod is in the Dragon/Stomach area, and Uranus is on the cusp of the Snake/Spleen area. The Dragon has a large hole of hunger in his stomach which is hard to be assuaged, so we'll have the need to feed our stomachs and get some comfort food...in various ways. We may be going overboard with the need to just 'have' possessions, or obsessive-compulsive feelings, at the extreme. The rest of us need to temper our desires for possessions. The Cat has feelings of insecurity and is seeking to be secure, and the Snake seeks perfecton and is often disappointed. The answer points to the Rooster.....to not be motivated by fear, but to stand and have courage and allow the new information to come forward.

With the eclipses in Aries-Libra for two years, we saw a lot of Aries people in the headlines. Now, Aquarians will take the top spot. Watch for Dick Cheney, among others, to be come out from behind Bush's coattails.

We see the result of the eclipse 90 days later, or May 6, 2008.

For you, Gemini, Aquarius is in your 9th house of religion and travel, as well as the law. It's also the preparatory house for your career, as it relates to higher education...so it's time to take some classes and get that extra knowledge, so when the push comes for that new job, you'll have all the credits on your resume to get that pay raise. The "answer" from the Yod is the 3rd house of community, neighborhood and siblings. Maybe a sibling could lend you the money for school, or in some other way offer the answer.

August solar eclipse The second eclipse occurs on August 1, 2008 at 3:12 am pdt. The sun and moon are at 9 degrees of Leo. The planetary body behind the eclipse, which is 'charged' for the period is Ceres, the goddes of grain, and the asteroid which puts food on the table and a roof over our heads, and may or may not be nurturing. It's more of the physical manifestations of nurturing, rather than emotional. If we go back to an actual planet, that would be Uranus, so we can expect the unexpected during this time. We have another Yod focusing in reverse. Ceres is at 22 of Cancer, Venus is at 24 of Leo and Mars is at 18 of Virgo, pointing at Neptune at 23 of Aquarius. The sun and moon move over the Yod trigger point in August, sure to pull the arrow on the bow and trigger off something. The eclipse is in the opposite sign from Neptune conjunct Chiron, so we can see more elements of the cracks in the foundation. The 'answer', generally speaking, is in relationship issues, and gently pulling off the mask and seeing each other in the true light of reality. Oppositions are always about light and shadow issues, seeing aspects about ourselves and others we hadn't seen before.

For you, Gem,Leo is in your 3rd house of siblings, and the next one after you in particular. It's also the house of lower education, neighbors and community, so any of these can be on center stage at this time. Your sibling may have some issues that you aren't clear about. They may be having some relationship problems at this time. You may have to go to your child's school and look carefully between the lines to see what's true and what isn't. Events can be a mirage during this time, and you think literally, Gem, so consider it may not be all that it seems.

We see the results of this activity 90 days from the eclipse; so watch for action on or around November 1, 2008.

MAJOR TRANSITS in 2008

Jupiter trines Saturn - January 21st
Jupiter sextiles Uranus - March 29th, May 21st, November 13th
Jupiter sesquiquadrates Saturn - June 26th
Saturn opposes Uranus - November 4th
Jupiter incojuncts Neptune - November 28th

Well, it looks like a better year, doesn't it??? No heavy duty Saturn, Pluto, Uranus transits. ....Saturn opposite Uranus at the end of the year seems to be the only fly in the ointment. Yet there are planets that are close. Uranus has had the asteroid, Pallas, close, most of 2007. It's still there til March. Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, indicating a genius mentality when aspected positively, and Pallas is all mental - the goddess was born of Zeus' head, so she's not in touch with emotion - this conjunction will see children born at this time genius in the field of computers and math.....Uranus rules computers and Pallas rules the ability to think in patterns and put things together others wouldn't see.

At the same time, Chiron is keeping close on the heels of Neptune....in fact it will do so til 2014! Chiron is the wounding and Neptune is illusion/delusion....even sabotage sometimes. How are these two going to work? They are in Aquarius - and will move to Pisces before they split up an opportunity to move beyond our limitations. The last time Chiron and Neptune met up, it was 1945. I've heard from people who were children in that time that they were fed some propaganda of sorts from their parents, which, since they were their parents, they believed, and built their life on. It behooves nurturing parents of children born in these years to watch for negative programming by someone. It would depend on which house it's in, who the probably culprit might be.

When Saturn opposes Uranus in November, it will also oppose Pallas, of course, as well. Those who think within the box are not going to cotton to people who think outside the box....and so far outside the box most of us can't comprehend the genius (sort of like "Charlie (David Krumholtz) " on "Numb3rs").

During the first few months of the year, Mars flits back and forth opposing Pluto before it moves on. Mars is the god of war, and the previous ruler of Scorpio before Pluto was discovered. It's usually a time of dark forces. Mars also represents cars, and Pluto is anything with an RE before it, so REpair works here. Keep your car repaired. ...there are 3 types of policemen. #1 is the Virgo type who wants to serve and protect, #2 is the Saturn type where they want you to follow the rules and stay within the box, and #3 are the Pluto types that want dominion and control.....the latter is more likely to be behind the bush just waiting for you to make a mistake.....so watch your p's and q's (literally! that's shorthand for pints and quarts!!) and don't give them anything they can complain about.

Pluto enters Capricorn in January, with Jupiter nearby, and then Jupiter takes off, staying in Cap for the year, to make the ingress a bit more easy. Saturn starts off the year aspectinig a number of planets, and close to opposing Uranus, so we can feel a little of its non-appreciation of Uranus' hippie qualities at that time. In June, Saturn gets close to trining Pluto again, as it did in August of 2007. In July, Saturn and Pluto are still in a pretty close trine, but Mars joins them, conjuncting Saturn. As we saw with the bridge collapse, even a trine isn't good with Mars in the picture.

As we start into the summer months, Uranus is starting to move in to square Pluto, which it won't do til June of 2012, but it'll be hanging in close proximity the whole time. When Uranus conjuncted Pluto in 1966, it started the whole hippie, free love, uncommitted relationships, and being more open in sexual expression.....which brought in Roe v. wade, in 1973. In the coming years, culminating in 2012, we'll probably see more individualism again, and the people standing up to power.

For you Gemini:

Jupiter trines Saturn from the 8th house of mate's money/inheritances, to the 4th house of home and family. You may get some money now from mate's resources, and could be in a position to get the home of your dreams......making it a reality.

Jupiter sextiles Uranus from the 8th house of mate's money to the 10th house of your career/dad. You might get some money from dad, and it really doesn't have to be an inheritance....he may just be more in the mood to share. You can also get a nice reward on the job.

Jupiter sesquiquadrates Saturn from the 8th to the 4th. As the faster planet moves away from the trine at 120 degrees, it creates a sesqui at 135 degrees....a little blip on the radar screen to see if you handled the positive energy right.

Saturn Opposes Uranus/Pallas, from the 4th of home, mom and family, to the 10th of career and dad. It's a push pull between the home and the career, Gem. If your parents are divorced they may try to pull you apart. Uranus on the job can open some opportunities you hadn't expected, but Saturn moves in to use that new found money to repair the house, or in some way, the house and/or mom has an immediate use for it!

Jupiter inconjuncts Neptune from the 8th to the 9th.....Neptune's dissolve in the travel/religion area....moving you to a higher spiritual consciousness, perhaps, can find a dogmatic Jupiter calling you to stay in the religious fold.

THE OUTLYING PLANETS

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are called the 'major' planets because they move slowly. They are the 'directors' of our play of life, and dictate the set and the scenery and outline the major direction of the play.....they would be the ones who write the 'bible' for soap operas - the long range direction of the stories. Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars, on the other hand, are the "personal" planets: they are the actors who trigger the events, and can also be looked at as the 'daily writers' of our individual soap opera who write the daily events. So, in astrology, we look to the outlying planets and see what they are doing to get a sense where the action is going to take place.

Pluto Not a planet??? Puhleeeze! It has been decided by the astronomy community that Pluto is a dwarf planet...no, no, no....can't be a planet anymore. Hmmmmm, of all the planets I wouldn't mess with, it's Pluto. It has been discovered and designated a planet, and I wouldn't want to be the one to tell it to it's face!! It is generally conceded that before a planet is discovered, it's effects are subliminal; it's there, but isn't recognized as such. When it is discovered, it comes into light, into consciousness, and then we witness it in full bloom. Pluto was discovered in 1930, in Cancer, and then it moved thru Leo for 18 loooooong years, '39-57 (where the atom bomb was first exploded, the holocaust, etc., and we became the "I" generation), and then has been pretty generally a 12 year orbit in each sign since. Pluto is the planet who brings us our deepest transformations, puts us thru the fire, sees how much we can take. It creates diamonds out of our little clumps of coal, but in the process we are never the same.....and some astronomer is going to say it's no longer a planet? It would be nice by saying that, that the energy 'dwarfed' in size; that it no longer affected us so strongly and deeply, but I would think Pluto would just laugh at the thought, and shows us how much a planet "She" (because it is feminine energy) is. She's like Meryl Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada" - not anyone to mess with!!

(One way planets are tested for their validity is if they affect a void-of-course moon. A moon is void-of-course, when it aspects the last planet in line, and then has no other aspects til it enters the next sign. It was decided Chiron wasn't a planet for just this reason; Pluto certainly does. In fact, with Pluto at late degrees of Sag, and no other slow moving planet close, in 2006-2007, Pluto is the last planet the moon contacts nearly every month unless a fast moving planet slips in there periodically)

Pluto in Capricorn - January, 2008 - March, 2023.

After 12 years, Pluto is changing signs. It moves into Capricorn on January 25, 2008 at 6:37 pm PST; its ever challenging energy forcing us to grow; challenging us to stand up to it....reaping rewards of empowerment when we do and succeed. Pluto takes 15 years to go thru Capricorn. It's starting to slow down again. It took 18+ years for it to go thru Leo in the 40s and 50s, and then it sped up and went 12 years thru Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Sag...now it's going to slow down again in it's orbit. Actually, the planets have orbits that are not completely circular, so that they appear to be slowing down and speeding up; it's just the phase of the orbit they are in which creates the effect.

Pluto and Saturn are the taskmasters of the zodiac. They don't let us get away with anything. Saturn manifests the emotional blocks which keep us from moving forward, which Pluto triggered the in the past, which we sent underground, challenging us to grow, throwing us into the fires of transformation. When Pluto exits a sign, we are never the person who entered it....thru tempering and testing and transformation, we've grown, we're stronger, and we look at life from a far different perspective. The naive person who entered, emerges as a more empowered being....at least that's the potential. This period will be best for the earth signs. Pluto conjuncts Capricorn, which will test but eventually bring empowerment for Caps....trine Taurus and Virgo, so all that they have endured so far will reap some rewards. Air signs find Pluto in their money houses, which can see a drop initially, but then a straight building up afterwards. Water signs are involved in communication and relationships, while Fire signs deal with family and mate. It's the cardinal grand cross, of Aries, Cancer and Libra - with Capricorn - who are going to have transformative changes in their lives. (Remember: if you are born at 20 degrees or later of any given sign, or rising, synthesize it with the house positions of the next sign, i.e., if you're a Libra, for instance, you'll still have some time with the house positions, but you're closer to Scorpio's house positions, so include them in your deliberations.)

For you, Gemini, Pluto spent 12 years traversing the 7th house. This related to mom's mom and dad's dad, who set up patterns of behavior (even if they were no longer living, but manifested in their children) about who you would marry. A lot of those patterns came to the fore when Pluto started thru this house of the shadow energy, and you may have played out "The War of the Roses" movie. Pluto going thru the 1st and 7th almost always engage our most intimate relationships. The yin person in the relationship, who gives way to the more masculine yang, now started to stand up for themselves and not take it anymore. The yang person found their covert threats and manipulations ultimately didn't work...the horse got out of the barn, and they couldn't get it back in.

Now, Pluto goes into the 8th house of sex, death and taxes as the old text says. It's more a house of mate's money, inheritances, with some influences left of the former. If the yin person has stood up in the relationship and a divorce incurs, there will be a power play on one side or the other. It's the 2nd house of mate's money if we 'turn the wheel', so your mate can come in to money as well, so you'd better make sure you want to pull the plug, as you may miss out. Your mate may have a break down in his/her job situation before a better job comes along and you pull yourself out of the money quagmire.

Pluto goes retrograde on April 2nd and goes direct on September 8th.

NEPTUNE - in Aquarius - 1998-2012

Neptune is now in Aquarius. Combined with Uranus, it's been a bumpy ride the last 8-15 years. There have been upsets and jobs lost, as you've been encouraged to get out of the rat race and pursue more personal goals. The nebulousness of Neptune, has found carving a niche for yourself rather difficult. Now that it has followed Uranus into Aquarius (as Uranus moves into Pisces), the ride should be a little easier, as the energy is more to Nep's liking....Aquarius is a transcendent sign of higher vision much as its own sign, Pisces.

For you, Gem, being a mental sign, you've enjoyed Uranus being in your 9th house in Aquarius but now it's moved on... but it hasn't been as easy with Neptune there. Neptune is all about water, emotion, crying, sensitivity - all the things that you eschew as not being necessary. Neptune is here to heighten your awareness and allow a little sensitivity in.

Neptune goes retrograde on May 26th, and goes direct on November 2nd.

URANUS - In Pisces - 2003-2011

Uranus- On March 11, 2003, Uranus moved into Pisces after 8 years in Aquarius. It then retro'ed back to Aquarius on Sept. 16th,2003, and then back to Pisces by Dec. 31st to continue on it's way thru Pisces for the next 7+ years. Uranus rules Aquarius, which is an air sign, and Pisces, of course, is water. Water and air don't work too well together. Just as Uranus got 'stuck' in Capricorn, it dives into the unknown areas of emotion, and gets confused....that objective, logical air quality doesn't understand emotion, ala "Mr. Spock" and "Data" of Star Trek. Triggering emotional buttons can have Uranus moving into uncharted areas, and acting inappropriately, even for itself. As a friend of mine, the late actress June Ellis (herself an Aquarian) once said, "How can you predict Uranus, when it is unpredictable?" When Uranus enters a new house (new room, more specifically) it throws on the lights, and exposes all that is in that 'room' to be be cleaned out, pulling the rug out from under as it goes, forcing you to move forward in new directions.

Uranus is now in Pisces and Gemini's 10th house - well, this doesn't help Gems either. The mental sign in the watery, Neptunian sign of Pisces. Gems are going to have to stay strong and focused as this illusionary energy does its work. Geminis are "Dr. Spock" (Star Trek) type people, who are intelligent and always analyzing and rationalizing. It likes Aquarius energy because it is the 'higher octave' of communication - it opens Geminis to concepts they never would have been exposed to. In the 10th, you can get sudden advancements in your career....or be unceremoniously dumped so you can get on with a career that means something to you.

Uranus goes retrograde on June 26th and goes direct on November 27th.

SATURN In Virgo - 9/2007 - 10/30/2009

After a rough 2 1/2 years in Leo, Saturn left the lofty sign and moved into Virgo on September 6, 2007. Leos in particular, breathed a sigh of relief. It wasn't a good time for Leos. Michael Richards (Kramer on Seinfeld) had his meltdown, Isaiah Washington of "Grey's Anatomy" had a long drawn out meltdown (just quit while you're ahead, Isaiah! He must have Snake energy in his chart somewhere - has to be right, can't be wrong and has to have the last word! - Let it go, for heaven's sakes!). Barry Bonds proceeded towards the home run title under spurious circumstances....if Saturn hadn't been in Leo, the last two and a half years would have gone better, but as Saturn made travel plans to move on to the state of Virgo, the energy lightened up and he got his tying home runs and went on to add to the total. For others, like Steve Carell, his career took off. For Leos, who like to live large, found Saturn more onerous than most planets traversing it. They started to part-eeeeeeeeeee when it left. they felt a sense of relief and 'let out of jail'. That ponderous cloud over their head moved on and the sun came out to shine a bit...yet it went into their money house, so hope you didn't part-eeeeeeee too much, Leo, the bills will come due at some point, and Saturn will wonder why you didn't put something aside in the savings account.

The Baby Boomers of the 40's found that Saturn was going over the same territory (Leo) it did in 1946-48. The problem there being that Saturn caught up with Pluto in 1947, and in 1948, Chiron squared them as they broke up. There was lots of angst during those years, and now, as Saturn moved thru it again - their second Saturn return, and revisiting the S/P conjunct, those in and around their 60's were feeling the aches and pains and emotional blocks of the traumas of those days.

Saturn went thru Leo again from 1976-78, so Baby Boomers had a fresh look at the wound again, and those born later, experienced it for the first time. Those born in the late 60s and early 70's experienced the recycling of the energy as they went thru their first Saturn return, and found the body manifesting the emotional blocks which occurred in their early years. In the 70's, Saturn was squaring Uranus - the 'cop' knocking heads with the "hippie" of the zodiac, but at least not causing the angst of the Pluto connection. For all signs born after the late 70's, this was the first time they felt it going thru Leo, the sign of ego and self worth, so they all felt some ego denying in relation to the house position it was in. Leos particuarly, those born in the early 80's are now in their mid 20's and they had never experienced Saturn riding rough shod on their need to shine.

Now, Saturn is in Virgo. In modern times, it went thru Virgo from 1948-51, and 1978-81. Virgo energy works better with Saturn, for it rules Capricorn and is part of the earth trine. Doesn't mean there aren't lessons to learn and karma to address, but it's a cadent sign and thus, lighter energy. Those who are recycling the energies from the late 40's and late 70's, will find issues coming up again to heal. Emotional blocks which were created during those times can manifest as illness. This is where we can thank Saturn instead of cursing him, because it brings into manifestation what we have been harboring in our souls for all this time, in a tangible expression which, if we detect it right, leads us to the answer.

Taurus and Capricorn will benefit most from this transit, as it will trine their sun sign during this juncture, and they'll find that the 'gods' are approving and bringing rewards for work well done. Virgos will be tested, but they are such workaholics that they probably won't know the difference. Sagittarians, Pisces and Geminis will feel the square energy, and find they have to stand up to authority figures who would like to mold them to their will. Leos, Aquarians, Aries and Libra will find themselves making 'adjustments' as Saturn quincunx (30 degrees) and inconjuncts (150 degrees), their signs. That leaves Cancer, Scorpio in a sextile position to Virgo, which will create a YOD pointing to Aquarius and Aries, respectively; when Saturn tests, your "answers" are in those houses, Moon baby and Scorp....it's up to you to figure it out. *

For you, Gem, Saturn traversed your 3rd house of communication, short trips and lower education. You may have been more assertive in how you dealt with people, or found people were more strident with you. You didn't hesitate to write that email and hit send.....sometimes before thinking it thru....ah well, now you know why letters are sometimes better; it takes time and energy to print a letter, address the envelope stamp it and take it to the mail box....you have time to think. You might have had issues with your kids' teachers, or had to take a stand with a neighbor.

Now, Gem, Saturn is moving thru your 4th, as it goes thru Virgo. It's at the bottom of your chart, moving thru the foundation and roots of your life. Saturn snoops around and tests the concrete to see if there are any cracks....It sees how deep your roots go. If there are any kinks, Saturn will find it. This is a karma house, bringing in issues that have come down from ancestor to ancestor, so it's also about familial patterns that you have genetically. Sometimes your issues are recycling, and sometimes it isn't so much what you have done in the past, but what your ancestors established a long time ago. You can have run ins with your mom...not a good time to sell the house usually....Saturn is always around, and always doing something, but it can be our best friend and show us what is bugging us emotionally, by manifesting it in our bodies or our lives, giving us an opportunity to see it in tangible form so we can heal those emotional blocks which bedevil us.

Chinese astrology - With Saturn going thru the area of the Snake, you were more sensitive to rejection, and took it more keenly than in the past. You tried harder to please, and sometimes you found people who were withholding at best.

Now, you move into the area of the Horse. You are looking for love. You want to manifest it in your life. It's time to settle down. You can find that one true person if you really try, but there are going to be those who will look good and after awhile will be hard on you. Don't jump into a relationship quickly.....let it evolve and see where it goes. Don't over exert during this time frame without warming up and cooling down sufficiently, and don't get zealous and jump into an exercise program and over do it. Your body will react more immediately than usual.

Saturn is retrograde at 8 degrees of Virgo at the beginning of the year, and goes direct on May 3rd, goes retro on December 31, 08, goes direct on May 17, 2009, moves into Libra on Oct 30, 2009, retrogrades on January 10, 2010, rx back into Virgo on April 8, 2010, goes direct on May 30, 2010 at 27 degrees of Virgo, and then goes back into Libra on July 22, 2010.

JUPITER in Capricorn - December 19, 2007 - January 6, 2009

Jupiter, planet of luck and growth left Sag and entered Cap in 2007 where it will stay until January of 2009. Jupiter is a yearly transit that bucks up whatever house it moves thru; the problem is you tend to think that the luck that comes your way is going to stay, and unless you do something concrete, when Jupiter moves to the next sign, so does the luck. The key is to be like some salesmen - don't stay with one thing and try to make it work; go with whatever is 'selling' this year. After all, there is a pattern to this whole thing called life.

There is a negative side to Jupiter. While it is luck, it is also expansion, and that can be the 'expansion' of our waistline or seeing the forest for the trees, but Jupiter is dogmatic - while it brings luck, it also can bring an arrogant air and a blind denial of anything it doesn't like. Jupiter sextiles Uranus this year, Cap to Pisces; an opportunity for something to 'drop from the sky' - a fortuitous bit of good luck that you might not have expected.....yet, in most cases, you have to set the energy in motion for it to happen.....yes, sometimes it can be the lottery....but you still have to buy the ticket. It's not a heavy duty good aspect like Jupiter trining Uranus, but it has potential depending on your destiny. Any sextile creates a YOD, this one points at Leo...where you shine, whichever house it's in.

For you, Gemini, Jupiter is in your 8th house of inheritances, sex, death and taxes as the saying goes. It's a time where your mate could come in to money. It's also a time where you could come into an inheritance. Jupiter opens up opportunties, it's up to you to make the most of it. You might get a larger inheritance than you expected.....and sometimes your 'inheritance' is the positive influence you got from mom's mom and dad's dad.

Jupiter goes retrograde on May 9th at 22 degrees and goes direct on September 8th at 12 degrees.

HEALTH ISSUES:

(if one or more of these health areas don't seem to be right on, go to the next sign following yours. Because some houses are longer or shorter than others, it could move the planet into the next Chinese animals' emotions/organ of the body. Also, if you're born in the last half of the sign, look at the next sign following yours; that will probably be more specifically for you.) This is for sun signs only; it doesn't work for rising sign as well, as other systems do. This interpretation is for education only. If you are having symptoms, consult your medical professional.

With Pluto moves into Capricorn, your 8th house, and the Dog/Circulation-Sex area of your chart. Geminis are an air sign, and in the CHinese overlay the 8th house of sex is the Dog, and so you aren't as sexual as other signs. Now with Pluto here, you can reach down deep into your being and find a sexuality that you never knew you had there. .....or you can use sex....or the withholding of sex for power purposes.

With Neptune in Aquarius, is in the Boar/TW area of your Chinese overlay. You can be down in the dumps and see things pessimistically. You may have thyroid issues around it....or you can have symptoms that can't seem to be traced, but Neptune could be hiding thyroid issues. It can be a free floating anxiety as Neptune keeps you from being grounded....something that isn't easy for you anyway, Gem, unless you have some Taurus planets around you.

With Uranus in Pisces,is in the Rat/Gall Bladder area of your Chinese overlay. You can be angry at not being able to move up to the evolutionary level you seek. Your gall bladder can act up, and you can display your rage over it.

With Saturn in Virgonow, it moves into the Horse/Heart area of your chart. Saturn causes stress so it would be good to mellow out during this time frame. Move yourself into a neutral plane where the excesses, good and bad, don't get to you. Saturn recycles events from 30 and 60 years ago; the late '40s and '70s, so look to those experiences for answers.

This information is based on my "Chinese Power Animals" book. This interprertation is for the sun sign and not for the rising sign.
