BORN IN CAPRICORN:

Those English Tweeds and solid oxford shoes, which have served the traditional Capricorn so well for so many years, are now found at the back of the closet. The "New Cap" emerged in 1989 when Uranus entered the sign to overturn the applecart and lead Cap out of the austere structure they carved for themselves in stone. Today, Capricorns are more easy going, exploring metaphysics and beginning to trust in something other than the tangible. You're a much less austere person than Capricorns of the past. You still like structure and form and you like to be the judges and cops who sets the rules and regulations.....that keep people coloring within the lines... but you're starting to recognize the freedom that can be had when you move beyond Saturn's self imposed structure. Before telescopes, we could not see beyond Saturn in the sky with the naked eye. That was it....that was the end of our universe. But then we developed telescopes and our worlds opened to a new dimension. That's what Capricorns are doing now; moving beyond the world they've created and seeing a vast universe at their finger tips.

2009 ...did we think we were going to be here this fast? It was only a year or two ago...right?....that we were worrying about Y2K and what we were going to wear for the new millennium parties. Those of us who have been around awhile thought surely we'd be zooming around in flying cars and instructing Scotty to "Beam me up"......Actually, Dave Garroway had a show in 1956 that said in 20 years, 1976, we would be doing things like that, and we would be taking vitamin pills as our sustenance....no food any more. Well, 1976 has come and gone a long time ago, and we're pretty much the same. Heck, we're 10 years in the new millennium, much less 1976. Scotty, where are you when I need you???!!

2009 - a number 11 year in numerology...or you can look a it as the 10th year of the new millennium. The Number 11 is a high vibratory number. Numerologists don't normally reduce that number to "2" as they do on others. In the 90's we had the "11:11" movement because in part of the high vibrations of the number. If we look at this as the 10th year of the new millennium, then we have the momentum to move forward in new directions. See Joe Ivory's take on how the year will pertain to you by clicking here.

Mercury
Mercury retrogrades 4 times this year:

January 11th - February 2nd: Aquarius
May 7th - May 31st: Gemini/Taurus
September 7th - September 29th:Libra/Virgo
December 24th - January 15th/2009: Libra/Virgo

We have one of those rare years when Mercury retrogrades 4 times. We're moving out of Air signs and into Earth signs....that will be a relief for all computer devotees who see their precious computers run amuk when Mercury retros in an air sign. Doesn't mean we won't have computer glitches, but not to the extent when they are in air. In 2008, the Gemini retrograde in May/June was particularly troubling, with Mercury (communication) retrograding in its own sign.

Mercury retrograde (any retrograde) can be likened to two trains on parallel tracks going at the same speed. When one starts to move faster, the other one 'seems' to be going backwards.

Pluto starts at 1 degree of Capricorn; retrogrades on April 4th at 3 degrees - then goes direct on September 11th at 0 degrees, and ends the year at 3 degrees.

Neptune begins the year at 22 degrees of Aquarius, retrogrades on May 28th at 26 degrees, and goes direct on November 4th at 24 degrees and is still at 24 at the end of the year.

Uranus starts at 19 degrees of Pisces, goes retrograde on August 2nd at 26 degrees, and goes direct on December 2nd at 22 degrees, and ends the year at 23 degrees.

Saturn commences at 21 degrees of Virgo in retrograde, and goes direct on May 17th at 14 degrees and enters Libra on October 30th and ends the year at 4 of Libra.

Jupiter starts the year at 28 degrees of Capricorn, goes in to Aquarius on January 6th, retrogrades on June 15th at 27 degrees, and goes direct on October 13th at 17 degrees and ends the year at 26 of Aquarius.

Mars begins the year at 3 of Capricorn, goes into Aquarius on February 5th, Pisces on March 16th, Aries on April 23rd, Taurus on June 1st, Gemini on July 3th, Cancer on August 26th, Leo on October 17th, and then goes retrogade on December 20th at 19 degrees, and ends the year at 18 degrees Leo.

January solar eclipse THE ECLIPSES

(Disregard the house placements - they'll change due to location)

There are usually two eclipses a year....once in awhile a third sneaks in at the end of the year when there's a Capricorn eclipse. The first eclipse this year occurs on January 26, 2009 at 2:55 AM EST in Washington D.C. at 6 degrees of Aquarius..... a scant 6 days from the inauguration of the 44th president....interesting to note that in the U.S. chart, the eclipse will conjunct Jupiter and is moving in on Neptune in the 10th house of 'career' or reputation in the world. Neptune here produced the inflation and home foreclosures, now the eclipse is right inbetween almost. Jupiter is expansion and growth....hopefully this doesn't mean more run away inflation.

In the chart for that exact time, the eclipse is in the 3rd house of communication, lower education, everyday travel, and neighborhoods. Our communication may be too optimistic and the rhetoric too bold for what is actually happening.

Uranus and Venus are hanging out together in Pisces; a fortuitous combination of something sudden happening out of the blue we hadn't expected....yet Saturn is opposing from Virgo, so it will be tempered with practicality....sort of like Venus Williams winning Wimbledon from her sister, Serena....the wild, impetuosity needs to be respectful of the person who isn't the winner in this astral combination. Uranus/Venus will encourage stick-in-the-mud Saturn to break free and kick up her heels a bit. Saturn is starting to move away from Uranus, after opposing in the fall of 2008, but the eclipse will pick it up a bit as Saturn starts to move on. There is still a tug of authority disapproving with our desire to be independent and free.

Jupiter in Aquarius conjuncting the solar eclipse promises some breakthroughs in computer technology, and Aquarians, at the focus of the eclipse can ready themselves for an opportnity....but be sure you see the forest for the trees...i.e....don't think too big without taking into consideration the fine points first.

Mercury and Mars together promises some assertive, even aggressive communication, and a quick temper...Uranus is moving in to square Pluto by 2012....the natives are getting restless when they see abuse of power.

The eclipse occurs in the Year of the Ox, the month of the Dog, the hour of the Ox and the minute of the Rat. There is a lot of energy around feeling oppressed and wanting to break loose and be independent and free. Someone may seek to 'take care of us' with ulterior motives....the Ox is snorting and pawing the earth!!

We see the result of the eclipse 90 days later, or on or around April 26th, 2009.

For you, Cap, the eclipse is in your 2nd house of money. It'll be a year of looking at your money, and then in the fall, looking at the money of others. Neptune may have had your financial situation a little fuzzy what with the financial occurences of the fall of 2008. Now your finances are on the front burner, and you have an opportunity with Jupiter there to build on what you have. Don't go in to any get rich schemes, or anything that looks to good to be true....Neptune could be lurking around the corner just ready to go 'poof'. So keep your investments solid.

July solar eclipse The second eclipse occurs on July 21, 2009 at 10:34 pm, EDT in Washngton, D.C. The sun and moon are at 29 degrees of Cancer, so it's still like a Leo eclipse, since the sun will go directly into Leo. Jupiter is the planet in focus this year, as it conjuncts the eclipse in January, and then meets up with Neptune and Chiron by this one. Jupiter can be politics among the things it rules, and Neptune can be spindoctoring so 'be careful out there'. We love the luck and largesse of Jupiter, but when it meets up with Neptune, we can envision great things, but need the practicality of an earth sign to keep us from 'taking flight'.

Uranus trines the solar eclipse providing some nice respite, and a sign something nice can happen when we least expect it.

An interesting configuration is the the eclipse sextiles Mars, which creates a Yod, and Pluto is at the power point on the other side...while at the same time, Chiron/Jupiter/Neptune are sextiling Pluto, sending down a yod where the eclipse occurs. Yods are 'finger of God" aspects remember. It points and says "here's the answer" but you have to figure it out, like a puzzle. So here we've got a mirror effect, with the answer pointing to the answer....maybe we need to look at our shadow issues to find what we seek.

While Uranus and Venus were together in the first eclipse, promising a delight, now Saturn squares Venus, bringing some austerity.....Saturn isn't going to give Venus the good time that Uranus did...but the positive aspects may be more enduring.

This eclipse occurs in the Year of the Ox, the month of the Cat, the hour of the Boar and the minute of the Tiger. The possessive energy of the Ox lightens up a bit, but the Cat wants to jump and bolt at the slightest opportunity, yet the Boar is wistful and dreams of days gone by. The Tiger wants to lie in the sun and soak up the rays.

For you, Cap,with the eclipse at 29 degrees of Cancer, it might as well still be in Leo, and Leo is your 8th house of 'other people's money', or more importantly, mate's money....or even that of your 2nd child, or mom's mom or dad's dad. It's also inheritances and alimony too. But it says that the spotlight is on their money and they are the recipients at this time, rather than you. Were you generous with your money at the first eclipse? If not, you may wish you had been.

We see the results of this activity 90 days from the eclipse; so watch for action on or around October 21st.

MAJOR TRANSITS in 2009

Saturn opposes Uranus on February 5th and September 15th,
     Virgo to Pisces
Jupiter inconjuncts Saturn on March 22nd and August 19th,
     Aquarius to Virgo
Jupiter quincunx Uranus - May 19th , July 1st, Dec 12th,
      Aquarius to Pisces
Jupiter conjuncts Neptune - May 27th, July 10th, Dec 21st
      in Aquarius
Uranus quincunx Neptune - June 10th and October 5th,
     Pisces to Aquarius
Saturn inconjuncts Neptune - September 12th,
     Virgo to Aquarius
Saturn squares Pluto - November 15th,
     Libra to Capricorn

Most of these aspects aren't "major".....but the 'major' ones are MAJOR! Saturn opposes Uranus on and off all year, from Virgo to Pisces, and then at the end of the year, Saturn moves into Libra and squares Pluto.....joy.....not! Saturn and Pluto just can't seem to let us alone. Oh well, we should be hardened to it by now, shouldn't we?

At the same time, Chiron is keeping close on the heels of Neptune....in fact it will do so til 2014! Chiron is the wounding and Neptune is illusion/delusion....even sabotage sometimes. How are these two going to work? They are in Aquarius - and will move to Pisces before they split up an opportunity to move beyond our limitations. The last time Chiron and Neptune met up, it was 1945. I've heard from people who were children in that time that they were fed some propaganda of sorts from their parents, which, since they were their parents, they believed, and built their life upon. It behooves nurturing parents of children born in these years to watch for negative programming by someone. It would depend on which house it's in, who the probably culprit might be. By mid year, Jupiter moves over the two.

Saturn opposes Uranus in November of 2008, then twice in 2009 - Feb 5th and Sept 15th - so the two are hanging out for the whole year. Those who think within the box are not going to cotton to people who think outside the box....and so far outside the box most of us can't comprehend the genius (sort of like "Charlie (David Krumholtz) " on "Numb3rs"). The finiteness of Saturn wants to keep Uranus energy contained, and we know what happens then....Uranus energy is like a stick of unstable dynamite when it gets boxed in.

At the end of the year almost, Saturn moves in to square Pluto in Capricorn on November 15th at 1 degree. Saturn and Pluto last met up opposing each other in 2001, now we see results from the square on 'the other side'. It depends on what planets they aspect in your life how intense it may or may not be. Pluto is all about domination and manipulation and the bully, while Saturn is rules and regulations and minding our p's and q's. The two of them aspecting can cause cruelty and abuse and a feeling of oppression.

Monthly Scan:

January: The Year starts out with Mars and Pluto conjuncting in Capricorn (angry domination) while Neptune and Venus hang out in Aquarius and try to make everything peaceful.
February: Saturn Opposes Uranus (the judge/cop vs. the Hippie) for the 2nd time and Venus moved in to conjunct Uranus at the end of last month....might soften it a bit.
March: Saturn is still in the range of Uranus, and now the sun is moving in to Uranus to shed light on the subject. Pluto in early Capricorn is squared by the Sun, Mercury and Venus at the end of the month.
April: Jupiter starts to move in to conjunct Neptune by May 27th. Saturn opposing Uranus is still in orb. Mars moves in to oppose Saturn first and then conjunct Uranus, sure to set a fire under this combustible combination. Mars squares Pluto at the end of the month....we see some of the Uranus building to square Pluto by 2012.
May: Jupiter conjuncts Neptune and Chiron by the 25th, the big picture seems real but it may be a house of cards.
June: Saturn in Virgo, squares the sun in Gemini.
July: Mars squares Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron, while the Sun, and Mercury, square square Uranus and oppose Pluto. Neptune and Jupiter are squared by Venus and Mars, while Uranus is squared by Mercury.
August: Saturn opposite Uranus are still in orb, and going to meet once more in September. This month Mars moves thru Gemini and squares them both....sure to add a bit of spice!
September: As Mars left Gemini in August it squared Uranus and squared Pluto. Now there's a grand cross, with Mercury/Ceres in Libra to fill it in.....with Saturn moving into that 4th spot.
October: Saturn and Uranus are still opposed, but now, Venus, Mercury and Pallas are hanging around Saturn to keep it company.
November: Saturn moves in to square Pluto and trined Neptune on it's way in. Neptune, Jupiter and Chiron are still together. The sun, Mercury and Mars are sesququadrating Uranus....a sudden shift while it's still opposing Saturn. So we have Uranus almost out of the picture, as Saturn switches its sites to Pluto.
December: Jupiter seems to want to stay with Neptune/Chiron, while Saturn moves off the square to Pluto a bit.

For you Cap:

Saturn opposes Uranus from the 9th house to the third. Saturn is trining your sun sign area, and Uranus is sextiling it, so the opposition may be benign, unless you have planets in signs around it. Saturn is in the 9th, offering education, but you have to earn it.....maybe a sports scholarship, but you have to earn it, etc. Uranus, on the other hand, in the 3rd, is shaking up the area of short trip communications and lower education. It's a communications gap for you, and you have to listen carefully to what is being said, because if you miss something it could be important.

When Saturn moves into Libra and squares Pluto from the 10th to the 1st, it's a time to decide whether you are going to be the one in power, or not. Pluto has moved into the first house and will go over your sun sign at some point in the next 15 years....you can come in to your power, but you will be tested. Saturn moving thru your 10th is happy to be there; happy to come home for a couple of years...the 10th is its home after all...and for Caps its a nice house with Libra providing all the niceties. She (Saturn) wants to go thru the place tho, get rid of the clutter and get everything ship-shape.

THE OUTLYING PLANETS

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are called the 'major' planets because they move slowly. They are the 'directors' of our play of life, and dictate the set and the scenery and outline the major direction of the play.....they would be the ones who write the 'bible' for soap operas - the long range direction of the stories. Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars, on the other hand, are the "personal" planets: they are the actors who trigger the events, and can also be looked at as the 'daily writers' of our individual soap opera who write the daily events. So, in astrology, we look to the outlying planets and see what they are doing to get a sense where the action is going to take place.

Pluto Not a planet??? Puhleeeze! It has been decided by the astronomy community that Pluto is a dwarf planet...no, no, no....can't be a planet anymore. Hmmmmm, of all the planets I wouldn't mess with, it's Pluto. It has been discovered and designated a planet, and I wouldn't want to be the one to tell it to it's face!! It is generally conceded that before a planet is discovered, it's effects are subliminal; it's there, but isn't recognized as such. When it is discovered, it comes into light, into consciousness, and then we witness it in full bloom. Pluto was discovered in 1930, in Cancer, and then it moved thru Leo for 18 loooooong years, '39-57 (where the atom bomb was first exploded, the holocaust, etc., and we became the "I" generation), and then has been pretty generally a 12 year orbit in each sign since. Pluto is the planet who brings us our deepest transformations, puts us thru the fire, sees how much we can take. It creates diamonds out of our little clumps of coal, but in the process we are never the same.....and some astronomer is going to say it's no longer a planet? It would be nice by saying that, that the energy 'dwarfed' in size; that it no longer affected us so strongly and deeply, but I would think Pluto would just laugh at the thought, and shows us how much a planet "She" (because it is feminine energy) is. She's like Meryl Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada" - not anyone to mess with!!

(One way planets are tested for their validity is if they affect a void-of-course moon. A moon is void-of-course, when it aspects the last planet in line, and then has no other aspects til it enters the next sign. It was decided Chiron wasn't a planet for just this reason; Pluto certainly does. In fact, with Pluto at late degrees of Sag, and no other slow moving planet close, in 2006-2007, Pluto is the last planet the moon contacts nearly every month unless a fast moving planet slips in there periodically)

Pluto in Capricorn - January, 2008 - March, 2023.

After 12 years, Pluto is changing signs. It moves into Capricorn on January 25, 2008 at 6:37 pm PST; its ever challenging energy forcing us to grow; challenging us to stand up to it....reaping rewards of empowerment when we do and succeed. Pluto takes 15 years to go thru Capricorn. It's starting to slow down again. It took 18+ years for it to go thru Leo in the 40s and 50s, and then it sped up and went 12 years thru Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Sag...now it's going to slow down again in it's orbit. Actually, the planets have orbits that are not completely circular, so that they appear to be slowing down and speeding up; it's just the phase of the orbit they are in which creates the effect.

Pluto and Saturn are the taskmasters of the zodiac. They don't let us get away with anything. Saturn manifests the emotional blocks which keep us from moving forward, which Pluto triggered the in the past, which we sent underground, challenging us to grow, throwing us into the fires of transformation. When Pluto exits a sign, we are never the person who entered it....thru tempering and testing and transformation, we've grown, we're stronger, and we look at life from a far different perspective. The naive person who entered, emerges as a more empowered being....at least that's the potential. This period will be best for the earth signs. Pluto conjuncts Capricorn, which will test but eventually bring empowerment for Caps....trine Taurus and Virgo, so all that they have endured so far will reap some rewards. Air signs find Pluto in their money houses, which can see a drop initially, but then a straight building up afterwards. Water signs are involved in communication and relationships, while Fire signs deal with family and mate. It's the cardinal grand cross, of Aries, Cancer and Libra - with Capricorn - who are going to have transformative changes in their lives. (Remember: if you are born at 20 degrees or later of any given sign, or rising, synthesize it with the house positions of the next sign, i.e., if you're a Libra, for instance, you'll still have some time with the house positions, but you're closer to Scorpio's house positions, so include them in your deliberations.)

For you Capricorn, you had a relatively quiet period as Pluto traversed the 12th, the hidden, behind the scenes. Your mates may have had power struggles on the job. However, you may have had someone plotting behind the scenes against your best interests. Did you discover who that was?

Now, as Pluto moves into Capricorn, you are moving into a time of empowerment. There may be a challenge here and there, but ultimately, it's like Pluto in the 10th - Capricorn's house - time to ascend the throne and accept your power. You can move in to a position of authority and control, now. You can be challenged by someone already there who fears the competition, but you've been thru enough Saturn/Pluto aspects to know what you're getting in to. Pluto brings a power figure, maybe a narcissist, into whatever sign it goes in to....just make sure that isn't you. You want Pluto to empower you, not turn you into power freak. Hold your own, don't be intimidated, and you'll be fine. Just watch your back.

Pluto goes retrograde on April 2nd and goes direct on September 8th.

NEPTUNE - in Aquarius - 1998-2012

Neptune is now in Aquarius. Combined with Uranus, it's been a bumpy ride the last 8-15 years. There have been upsets and jobs lost, as you've been encouraged to get out of the rat race and pursue more personal goals. The nebulousness of Neptune, has found carving a niche for yourself rather difficult. Now that it has followed Uranus into Aquarius (as Uranus moves into Pisces), the ride should be a little easier, as the energy is more to Nep's liking....Aquarius is a transcendant sign of higher vision much as its own sign, Pisces.

For you, Cap, Neptune is now in your second house of money. Well, that's not so good. Uranus shook up your finances and Neptune is schmoozing them. Neptune rules oil....oil makes plastic....plastic creates credit cards....that's why Neptune rules the 'plastic' which underwrites our lives. With Neptune here for a sustained period, it would be wise to bring your practical Cap attitude to the fore, and not get carried away with credit. However, some Capricorns can be induced to loosen the purse strings at this time and use it to enjoy the symphony, the opera, or other cultural endeavors that will enrich the soul, which they haven't seen the need to 'indulge' in before.

Neptune goes retrograde on May 26th, and goes direct on November 2nd.

URANUS - In Pisces - 2003-2011

Uranus- On March 11, 2003, Uranus moved into Pisces after 8 years in Aquarius. It then retro'ed back to Aquarius on Sept. 16th,2003, and then back to Pisces by Dec. 31st to continue on it's way thru Pisces for the next 7+ years. Uranus rules Aquarius, which is an air sign, and Pisces, of course, is water. Water and air don't work too well together. Just as Uranus got 'stuck' in Capricorn, it dives into the unknown areas of emotion, and gets confused....that objective, logical air quality doesn't understand emotion, ala "Mr. Spock" and "Data" of Star Trek. Triggering emotional buttons can have Uranus moving into uncharted areas, and acting inappropriately, even for itself. As a friend of mine, the late actress June Ellis (herself an Aquarian) once said, "How can you predict Uranus, when it is unpredictable?" When Uranus enters a new house (new room, more specifically) it throws on the lights, and exposes all that is in that 'room' to be be cleaned out, pulling the rug out from under as it goes, forcing you to move forward in new directions.

Capricorns will find Uranus shaking up the 3rd house of communication, lower education and siblings; the next one after you in particular. You can have opportunities to travel short distances. You can be gifted with the insight to see what others have yet to see. Your sibling can be getting restless and itchy, and causing issues with the family. That's not all that bad. They might get catapulted into a position they've always dreamed about.

Uranus goes retrograde on June 26th and goes direct on November 27th.

SATURN In Virgo - 9/2007 - 7/2010

After a rough 2 1/2 years in Leo, Saturn left the lofty sign and moved into Virgo on September 6, 2007. In modern times, it went thru Virgo from 1948-51, and 1978-81. Virgo energy works better with Saturn, for it rules Capricorn and is part of the earth trine. Doesn't mean there aren't lessons to learn and karma to address, but it's a cadent sign and thus, lighter energy. Those who are recycling the energies from the late 40's and late 70's, will find issues coming up again to heal. Emotional blocks which were created during those times can manifest as illness. This is where we can thank Saturn instead of cursing him, because it brings into manifestation what we have been harboring in our souls for all this time, in a tangible expression which, if we detect it right, leads us to the answer.

Taurus and Capricorn will benefit most from this transit, as it will trine their sun sign during this juncture, and they'll find that the 'gods' are approving and bringing rewards for work well done. Virgos will be tested, but they are such workaholics that they probably won't know the difference. Sagittarians, Pisces and Geminis will feel the square energy, and find they have to stand up to authority figures who would like to mold them to their will. Leos, Aquarians, Aries and Libra will find themselves making 'adjustments' as Saturn quincunx (30 degrees) and inconjuncts (150 degrees), their signs. That leaves Cancer, Scorpio in a sextile position to Virgo, which will create a YOD pointing to Aquarius and Aries, respectively; when Saturn tests, your "answers" are in those houses, Moon baby and Scorp....it's up to you to figure it out. *

For you, Cap, Saturn left your 8th house, and entered your 9th house in the fall of 2007. Leo is an inconjunct energy for Caps, it was time for an 'adjustment', maybe you were getting off the beaten track and during this time you got redirected. Any inheritances or alimony did not come easily, and sex was rather regimented if at all.

Now, Saturn is in your 9th house. That's a trine from Virgo to Cap. Saturn's always playing Scrooge....nosing around, trying to find something to complain about, but it's an easier 2 1/2 year spell for you. Maybe you'll manifest a trip, or find the money to go back to school. ...if you work hard for it. Saturn is your planet, Cap, so you know the energy and work better with it than anyone.....maybe you're the one that's the authoritarian in this area, so pull in your horns and try to work with people. Uranus and Neptune going thru Cap in the late 80's moved Caps out of their structure into a higher level of consciousness, so go there in your dealings with people, and don't get mired down in this effort to control your world.

When Saturn goes into your 10th house in the fall of 2009, it has the potential of bringing you into your crowning achievement if you play your cards right. What were you doing 30 years ago, when it went thru last? If it was as a teen, you dabbled, perhaps in areas that became your career. Now you can do it on a professional scale.

Saturn was retrograde at 8 degrees of Virgo at the beginning of 2008, and went direct on May 3rd. It goes retro on December 31, 08, goes direct on May 17, 2009, moves into Libra on Oct 30, 2009, retrogrades on January 10, 2010, rx back into Virgo on April 8, 2010, goes direct on May 30, 2010 at 27 degrees of Virgo, and then goes back into Libra on July 22, 2010.

JUPITER in Aquarius: January 6, 2009 - January 18, 2010

Jupiter, planet of luck and growth leaves Capricorn where it paved the pathway for Pluto and enters Aquarius in 2009 where it will stay until January of 2010. Jupiter is a yearly transit that bucks up whatever house it moves thru; the problem is you tend to think that the luck that comes your way is going to stay, and unless you do something concrete, when Jupiter moves to the next sign, so does the luck. The key is to be like some salesmen - don't stay with one thing and try to make it work; go with whatever is 'selling' this year. After all, there is a pattern to this whole thing called life.

There is a negative side to Jupiter. While it is luck, it is also expansion, and that can be the 'expansion' of our waistline or seeing the forest for the trees, but Jupiter is dogmatic - while it brings luck, it also can bring an arrogant air and a blind denial of anything it doesn't like. The main thing Jupiter does this year is to meet up with Neptune in Aquarius. This sounds good, but the expansion-without-consideration of Jupiter to the nebulousness of Neptune can have us thinking that nothing can go wrong...and after all, Jupiter is also politics and Neptune is oil...and also spindoctoring. The mirage may hold for awhile, but it will dissolve in time to reveal the truth.

Jupiter in Aquarius will be best for air signs, for it will conjunct Aquarius, of course, and trine the other two; Gemini and Libra. Opportunities will start to open up. Earth signs, Taurus and Virgo will find opportunities abound at work, while Capricorn has a good year with money, all things considered. Water signs will see relationships working better; Cancerians should see the money picture brightening with their mate's job, Scorpios do well in real estate perhaps, or relationship with mom, and Pisceans too see their mate getting some accolades on the job. Fire signs: Aries have exuberant friends and see their ambitions expand, Leos finding rewarding experiences with their mate and Sags can expand their influence in the community or do some writing.

For you, Cap, Jupiter is in your 2nd house of money. 2008 found it in your first house, where opportunities opened up for you. Now, with Jupiter in the second, you'll have opportunities to make money from the inroads you made last year. Neptune is ahead in Aquarius tho, so don't see the forest and not the trees, i.e., don't see the big picture without taking into consideration everything that shores it up.

Jupiter retrogrades on June 15th at 27 degrees, and goes direct on October 13th at 17 degrees.

HEALTH ISSUES

(if one or more of these health areas don't seem to be right on, go to the next sign following yours. Because some houses are longer or shorter than others, it could move the planet into the next Chinese animal's emotions/organ of the body. Also, if you're born in the last half of the sign, look at the next sign following yours; that will probably be more specifically for you.)This is for sun signs only; it doesn't work for rising sign as well, as other systems do. This interpretation is for education only. If you are having symptoms, consult your medical professional.

With Pluto in Capricorn, it's the Dragon/Stomach area of the Chinese overlay. Money is important to you, Cap, and now you want the power that goes with it. You'll be more ambitious to get what you want and keep it. There's usually a little dip in finances at the outset of a Pluto ingress, and it may sock you right in the stomach til it starts to right itself again.

With Neptune in Aquarius, it's in the Snake/Spleen area of your Chinese overlay. This is your second house of money, and so you can be feeling like your monetary area is less than solid and stable. The Snake is nervous and scrambling around trying to corral all the money and keep it safe, but it's squeezing out here and there.....so much to keep track of and just soo much snake to go around. You may seem to hoard your money now because you just can't trust it outside that bank! you long to be recognized and hate being rejected. You will go a long ways not to have that happen....and yet, the other side of you will test the limits to see just how far others will go before they cut you off. Your spleen needs protection here.

With Uranus in Pisces, it is in the Horse/Heart area of your Chinese overlay. You tend to have siblings who are different from you, because they reflect the Pisces energy, and now Uranus is here to make them even more eclectic. This is the heart section of your chart, and sometimes Uranus will cause palpitations. So, if that happens, just know that Uranus is shaking up the electrical system a bit. Be sure and check with your physician, but knowing what it is can keep it from being too scary.......and it doesn't have to happen, but sometimes it does.

With Saturn in Virgo, it is in the Rat/gall bladder area of the Chinese overlay. It's your 9th house of travel, religion, sports, politics. You are very sensitive to people in this area of your chart, and can feel abandoned or betrayed when Saturn's energy criticizes you. Your temper can flare during this time. Saturn recycles events of 30 and 60 years ago; the late '40's and '70's....Look to events at that time for your feelings of anger now.

When Saturn goes into Libra, it will be in the Ox/Liver area. There may be someone in your life who seems to be taking care of you, but somehow you'll feel smothered because it's keeping you from moving ahead in life.

This information is based on my "Chinese Power Animals" book. This interprertation is for the sun sign and not for the rising sign.
