Baby Boomers

Major Transits

United States and President 2012

You're headstrong, Aries, no one really has to tell you that. You see what you want to do and you do it....and everyone make room! Some make take issue with that, but then, where would we get the pioneers and the risk takers and make progress if you didn't 'jump in where angels fear to tread'?

There are actually three types of Aries: the baby, the ebullient, and the militant. Aries is the first sign, the baby of the zodiac, and some Aries act out that role, being very child like and charming, disarming those around them with these qualities; but capable of being very demanding in the process. Then there is the 'ebullient': the bubbly, effervescent, fun person, personified by "Tammy" or "Gidget" and some of the women who played them: Debbie Reynolds (Aries), Sally Fields (Aries rising), Caryn Richman (Aries). They have a youthful exuberance that takes them into their maturity, seemingly younger than their years. #3 is the militant, the assertive person who is going to confront issues without a second thought. Charming, vibrant, ebullient, vital, Aries have the ability to bring life to a group and inspire others to greater heights when the energy is positive.

planets The Year 2012 is almost upon us. Many are predicting the end of Time is aout upon us. I wouldn't divest yourself of your property.....I suspect I'll have the 2013 forecasts up by this time next year. When you are forecasting, you have to stop somewhere, and 2012 may have just been that point for the Mayans. When I wrote my book "Chinese Power Animals", I put the dates for the Year of ______ animals up thru 2000. The book came out in 2000 by the time it was published. Wish I had put it thru to 2010 at least....but at some point you just have to stop.

The article on the United States and President Obama can be found here (as well as on the left side links).

Happy 2012! .....and let's sail into 2013 liberated and free!

We go into 2012 witnessing the first hard angle between Uranus and Pluto since they conjuncted in 1966. Uranus rules Aquarius, which is the sign of computers, higher thinking, uncommitted relationships; the populace who seeks liberation, independence and autonomy....the people. Pluto, by contrast, rules Scorpio, the sign of power, control, domination; ruler of the underworld politics and sex...the corporations. We've already seen signs of what this portends in the coming year. Where will it occur in your chart???

Uranus moved in to conjunct Pluto in the middle 60's. Uranus is the planet of change; of liberation and freedom. In the United states' chart, it is in the first house - we are a nation of change, sometimes violent change.

The traditional family was in for an overhaul. Women were getting unsettled staying home, cooking and cleaning; being the "little woman". The man of the family saw his power eroding as children became more independent and were encouraged to say what was on their mind, while The Pill and diapragms allowed women to decide whether they wanted more children or not. Some dad/husbands sat back in wonderment as they saw 'their world' crumbling before their eyes....and didn't know what to do about it.

It was a time that saw violent change with protesting the Vietnam war, The SLA, Patty Hearst's abduction, There was the sexual revolution, and books like "The Feminine Mystique" and "Everything You Wanted to Know about Sex But Were Afraid to Ask" were best sellers; it was ok for non committed sex and using sex for casual recreation, rather than strict procreation....why lots of couples slept in twin beds before then!

Pluto is power; power that is not challenged....But Uranus goes where angels fear to tread, and stood up to the power and posture of Pluto....the roles in the family shifted and changed, with mom going out to work to create a life of her own. The masculine role had to shift too, and many times it didn't, or didn't go quietly.

The world we have today - a much freer, relaxed world, with independence and acceptance of cultures and religions by those born then and subsequently, is because Uranus and Pluto met up in Virgo in the early-middle 60's. Now they are forming their first challenge, as Uranus is about to square Pluto in 2012.

It's been 44 years since they conjuncted in 1966, and in 2012 Uranus will make its first hard angle to Pluto.....squaring Pluto from Aries to Capricorn. We're seeing it already as it builds to a peak. Uranus is all about computers, and as Uranus moves in, we're seeing the proliferation of data and social networks.....the conjunction in '66 brought computers into the home. Where Gays and Lesbians started to come out of the closet in the 60's - Uranus shines light on things hidden - now we are seeing the acceptance of gay marriage, and there will be a push to have that accepted in the country...and the world.

In the 60's the hue and cry was "don't trust anyone over 30"....At 30 we used to be middle aged, segued into sensible shoes and conservative clothes...and were part of the problem to the modern way of thinking....30 is the new 20 so we can't say that anymore, but there will be a rising rebellion against 'the establishment'. However, where those in power, the corporations, used to play behind the scenes, nowadays they don't seem to care anymore. They are out there 'in your face' about anything that doesn't agree with their dogma.....It's going to be a bumpy ride!

2012 - a number 5 year in numerology...What we can expect? In the Tarot, it's an Hierophant Year, which has to do with resolving issues with family members, or on the flip side of the coin, deciding if we want a family or not. Time to go back to school and get some added knowledge. It's a good time to work on those creative ideas you've had on the back burner for ages. Add the sum of your month and day numbers to 5 to see what number your year is personally, and synthesize it with that. See Joe Ivory's Personal Year info.

Mercury retrogrades 3 times this year:

March 12th - April 4th: Aries/Pisces
July 14th - August 7th: Leo
November 6th - November 26th: Sag/Scorpio

Mercury retrogrades 3 times this year as is the norm. It's basically retrograding in Fire signs, so we're examining the times when we didn't take the reins, kick the horse in the sides and take off down the road. Maybe this year.

Mercury retrograde (any retrograde) can be likened to two trains on parallel tracks going at the same speed. When one starts to move faster, the other one 'seems' to be going backwards.

Pluto starts the year at 7 degrees of Capricorn, retrogrades on April 10th at 9 degrees...goes direct on September 18th at 6 degrees and ends the year at 9 degrees of Capricorn. We learn these lessons well as Pluto moves so slowly.

Neptune starts the year at 28 of Aquarius. It moves into Pisces for its transit of the sign on February 4th; retros on 6/4 at 3 degrees of Pisces, goes direct on November 10th at 0 of Pisces and and ends the year at 1 degree.

Uranus starts the year at 0 of Aries, goes retrograde on July 13th at 8 degrees of Aries....goes direct on December 13th at 4 degrees Aries, and ends the year at 4 degrees.

Saturn commences at 28 degrees of Libra, goes retro on February 7th at 29 degrees, goes Direct on June 25th at 22 degrees. It moves into Scorpio on October 6th and ends the year at 9 of Scorpio

Jupiter starts the year at 0 of Taurus, moves into Gemini on June 12th. It retrogrades at 16 degrees on October 4th, where it ends the year at 7 Gemini.

May solar eclipse THE ECLIPSES

(Disregard the house placements - they'll change due to location)

There are 2 solar eclipses this year, May 20th and November 13th.

The first eclipse this year occurs on May 20, 2012 at 7:48 PM EDT, in Washington D.C. at 0 degrees of Gemini....The eclipse occurs with late Scorpio rising, and the eclipse in Gemini in the shadow section of the 7th house when it occurs in D.C. The eclipse in Gemini is a mental one, less of a 'between the eyes' type that we've had in the recent past.

At the eclipse, it conjuncts the south node, bringing up elements of the past....trines Mars thankfully (positive movement forward), since Mars is moving in to a HUGE grand cross with Uranus and Pluto in July, inconjncts Pluto, an adjustment of sorts....squares Neptune/Chiron, challenging us to part the mist and see cearly, and sextiling Pallas/Uranus, a big breakthru in computer related stuff can be initiated.

The eclipse occurs in the Year of the Dragon, the month of the Tiger. Babies born now will have a desire to perform and be on stage, or in some way want to be in the public eye. They will have strong appetites with a desire to have their needs and wants met and do what's necesssary to accomplish that. Dragon babies should be fed on demand so they get used to a full tummy and not have that internal hunger. These are mental/metal babies who are smart and computer oriented, and with Uranus conjunct Pallas, the asteroid of complete mental acuity in Aries, the pioneer, we should see some new Steve Jobs types 20 or so years down the road.

We see the outcome of this eclipse 90 days later on August 20, 2012.

For you, Aries, the eclipse is in your 3rd house of communication, siblings, lower education, short travel. Your minds are alive with ideas. Uranus is in your first house, making you desire to move in new ways in new directions, and Pallas is taking you to new heights. You are the pioneer of the zodiac and now you have the opportunity to take higher knowledge to new heights. Pluto is in your 10th house, to bring your ideas into your career.

solar eclipse The second eclipse occurs on Nov 13, 2012 at 5:09 pm, EDT in Washngton, D.C. The sun and moon are at 21 degrees of Scorpio. Where the first eclipse was all about Gemini with good ol' Mercury as it's ruling planet, now we've got an eclipse in serious, emotional, subjective, manipulative Scorpio. After the big explosion of sorts on July 18th, now Mars is near Pluto with this eclipse, squaring Uranus in Aries on the 23rd, and conjuncting Pluto on the 27th. We may not like the election results on November 6th and respond. Scorpio is power and Sag is politics and with configuration it could be revolution in the process. Saturn has just recently moved into Scorpio and is the last planet sun and moon went over before creating the eclipose; Saturn will be the 'overlord' planet for the period. There's a mutal reception now, Saturn in Scorpio, Pluto's sign, and Pluto in Capricorn, Saturn's sign. They are sextile to each other so could give each other a boost. Saturn is in an inconjunct position in Scorpio to Uranus in Aries, sure to be a Player in the mix. Children born at this time need to be encouraged and protected so they develop strong, nurturing natures; it won't be natural.

This eclipse occurs in the Year of the Dragon, the month of the Sheep. The Dragon still wants to shine, but the Sheep needs to be careful of the company s/he keeps and distinguish between good and bad people who could draw them into nefarious scenarios. It's all right to discriminate between good and evil.

We see the results of this activity 90 days from the eclipse; so watch for action on or around February 11, 2013.

For you, Aries, the eclipse is in your 8th house of mate's money, inheritances at times. It's also about alimony, sex and what you feel about it. The money of your 2nd child, 3rd sibling after you; mom's mom and dad's dad's finances can be called into play. It's a money house, and being in Scorpio for you, there's sure to be some diabolical schemes going on, that you, as an up front Aries really doesn't like. But Mars your ruling planet, used to rule Scorpio before Pluto came along, so it's energy you understand.

Jupiter trines Pluto, 9 Taurus to 9 Cap - 3/12

Jupiter inconjuncts Saturn Rx - 23 Taurus - 23 Libra - 5/16

Uranus squares Pluto Rx, 8 Aries to 8 Cap - 6/24

Jupiter squares Neptune - 3 Gemini to 3 Pisces - 6/25

As Uranus is squaring Pluto, Aries to Cap, Mars in Libra and Moon in Cancer create a Grand cross - 7/17

Jupiter inconjuncts Pluto Rx - 7 Gem to 7 Cap - 7/18

Jupiter sextiles Uranus - 8 Gem to 8 Aries 7/21

Uranus Rx squares Pluto - 6 Aries to 6 Cap - 9/18

Saturn trines Neptune- 0 Scorpio to 0 Pisces - 10/10

Saturn inconjuncts Uranus, 4 Scorpio to 4 Aries - 11/15

Jupiter Rx inconjuncts Pluto - 8 gem to 8 Cap - 12/20

Jupiter inconjuncts Saturn - 8 Gem to 8 Scorpio, 12/22

Saturn sextiles Pluto - 9 Scorpio to 9 Cap - 12/26

Jupiter whips thru a sign in approximately a year's time, so it's going to aspect all the planets at one time or another. Jupiter is luck, expansion and growth; but it's also foreign interests and law and politics. Jupiter has a fortunate trine to Pluto in early March.....the judge and power bow to each other....there may be a big supreme court decision. Then Jupiter engages Saturn on May 16th, and jockey for position. The two biggest planets. Saturn rules discipline and conservatism and putting your nose to the grindstone and picking yourself up by the bootstraps while Jupiter looks for mercy to season justice. The two knock heads to see who's got the upper hand. Jupiter enters Gemini on June 11th. It then squares Neptune on June 25th. Jupiter may be luck and justice, but it doesn't like to be lied to, and now we'll see someone get leveled for saying the wrong thing. Jupiter inconjuncts Pluto on 7/18 and 12/20, some adjustment has to be made in the political arena. At the same time in December, 12/22, Jupiter inconjuncts Saturn as well, being at the apex of the Saturn/Pluto sextile; the power struggle needs to be adjudicated by Jupiter.

Saturn goes retrograde on Feb 7th at 29 of Libra, and goes direct at 22 of Libra on 6/25. It enters Scorpio on October 5th. It stays out of the limelight til October, when it trines Neptune on the 10th from Scorpio to Pisces. Saturn usually eschews Neptune's airy fairy nature, but during October it's more likely that things like corporations funding the arts will happen. Saturn just can't stay out of the Uranus/Pluto fray. on Noveber 15th it inconjuncts Uranus rx, 4 Scorpio-4Aries, wagging it's finger at hippie Uranus, and then just after Christmas, it sextiles Pluto, 9 Sco to 9 Cap. Sextiles are suppose to be benign, but they create Yods, this time it points to 9 of Gemini. The answer is there. What is it??? Actually, it's about the longitude of New York.

There is a larger article on what Uranus and Pluto are up to, but Neptune needs to be addressed. It enters Pisces for the duration on February 3rd, goes Rx at 3 Pisces on June 4th, goes direct on 11/11 at 0 Pisces. In the meantime, it's affected by Jupiter in June, and Saturn in October, see above. Neptune is always in a quasi sextile to Pluto, so it's manipulating behind the scenes, and it'll reveal itself more directly in a couple of years when it catches up to these degrees via Pisces.

Uranus Squares Pluto: For you Aries, Uranus is in your 1st house of Self and Pluto is in your 10th house of career. Those who were born in early degrees of Aries will feel it strongest. You are wanting to break free of career confinement and stand up for yourself....maybe create a 'new you' and do something different with your life. An imposing, dictatorial boss can make the change easy. In July, Mars affects these two from the 7th house of marriage. Your mate may have different ideas about your career goals or dealing with dad. People with sun signs in early degrees will feel this more specificially.

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are called the 'major' planets because they move slowly. They are the 'directors' of our play of life, and dictate the set and the scenery and outline the major direction of the play.....they would be the ones who write the 'bible' for soap operas - the long range direction of the stories. Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars, on the other hand, are the "personal" planets: they are the actors who trigger the events, and can also be looked at as the 'daily writers' of our individual soap opera who write the daily events. So, in astrology, we look to the outlying planets and see what they are doing to get a sense where the action is going to take place.

Pluto Not a planet??? Puhleeeze! It has been decided by the astronomy community that Pluto is a dwarf, no, no....can't be a planet anymore. Hmmmmm, of all the planets I wouldn't mess with, it's Pluto. It has been discovered and designated a planet, and I wouldn't want to be the one to tell it to it's face!! It is generally conceded that before a planet is discovered, it's effects are subliminal; it's there, but isn't recognized as such. When it is discovered, it comes into light, into consciousness, and then we witness it in full bloom. Pluto was discovered in 1930, in Cancer, and then it moved thru Leo for 18 loooooong years, '39-57 (where the atom bomb was first exploded, the holocaust, etc., and we became the "I" generation), and then has been pretty generally a 12 year orbit in each sign since. Pluto is the planet who brings us our deepest transformations, puts us thru the fire, sees how much we can take. It creates diamonds out of our little clumps of coal, but in the process we are never the same.....and some astronomer is going to say it's no longer a planet? It would be nice by saying that, that the energy 'dwarfed' in size; that it no longer affected us so strongly and deeply, but I would think Pluto would just laugh at the thought, and shows us how much a planet "She" (because it is feminine energy) is. She's like Meryl Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada" - not anyone to mess with!!

(One way planets are tested for their validity is if they affect a void-of-course moon. A moon is void-of-course, when it aspects the last planet in line, and then has no other aspects til it enters the next sign. It was decided Chiron wasn't a planet for just this reason; Pluto certainly does. In fact, with Pluto at late degrees of Sag, and no other slow moving planet close, in 2006-2007, Pluto is the last planet the moon contacts nearly every month unless a fast moving planet slips in there periodically)

Pluto in Capricorn - January 27, 2008 - retro'd into Sag on June 15, 2008 - then went forward and re entered Cap on Novemer 28, 2008 - in Capricorn til March, 2023.

After 12 years, Pluto has changed signs. It moved into Capricorn on January 25, 2008 at 6:37 pm PST; its ever challenging energy forcing us to grow; challenging us to stand up to it....reaping rewards of empowerment when we do and succeed. Pluto takes 15 years to go thru Capricorn. It's starting to slow down again. It took 18+ years for it to go thru Leo in the 40s and 50s, and then it sped up and went 12 years thru Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and it's going to slow down again in it's orbit. Actually, the planets have orbits that are not completely circular, so that they appear to be slowing down and speeding up; it's just the phase of the orbit they are in which creates the effect.

Pluto and Saturn are the taskmasters of the zodiac. They don't let us get away with anything. Saturn manifests the emotional blocks which keep us from moving forward, which Pluto triggered in the past, which we sent underground, challenging us to grow, throwing us into the fires of transformation. When Pluto exits a sign, we are never the person who entered it....thru tempering and testing and transformation, we've grown, we're stronger, and we look at life from a far different perspective. The naive person who entered, emerges as a more empowered least that's the potential. This period will be best for the earth signs. Pluto conjuncts planets in Capricorn, which will test but eventually bring empowerment for Caps....trine Taurus and Virgo, so all that they have endured so far will reap some rewards. Air signs find Pluto in their money houses, which can see a drop initially, but then a straight building up afterwards. Water signs are involved in communication and relationships, while Fire signs deal with family and mate. It's the cardinal grand cross, of Aries, Cancer and Libra - with Capricorn - who are going to have transformative changes in their lives. (Remember: if you are born at 20 degrees or later of any given sign, or rising, synthesize it with the house positions of the next sign, i.e., if you're a Libra, for instance, you'll still have some time with the house positions, but you're closer to Scorpio's house positions, so include them in your deliberations.)

For you Aries - As a fire sign, Aries, you had Pluto in Sag going thru your 9th house, a cadent house, which is usually easier....but it also deals with the law, too. The 9th has to do with travel, religion, higher education, getting ready for Pluto's segue into the 10th house of career. The 9th helps define you for this important evolution in your life. Thru these 3 aspects, you discover just who you are in relation to the universe, so you're ready for the 10th - this is what you've been waiting for all your life - power in your life. If you are a child or young when this happens, it will provide a foundation for later on. Now, Aries, it's time for you to take the sceptre and accept the throne. Pluto is in your 10th house of career/dad now. Pluto will help you to dig deep inside yourself and come to terms with your father. New ways of viewing your relationship will come to the surface. You can use it to your benefit. In readings I often say look to your father to be a success in your career - and most people groan! But, he is a role model for this house. What he did right, you emulate, what he did wrong, you do the opposite. Of course, it's not that simple, but it gives you a head start. You can have some power struggles with Dad as you move to individuate yourself in this career. You might find out that some of the things he did to survive, you will find you will too, and you'll understand him more.

Pluto in the 10th calls you to be scrupulous in your application to work. Your reputation will be scrutinized and you don't want to come up lacking. You have the opportunity during these 15 years to make some real progress in your career, so if you didn't do all you should have in the 9th to be prepared, don't hesitate to go back to school, travel, or in some way get that education that will bring you success here. You can have a run in with dad, or your employer can have authoritarian airs.

Pluto starts the year at 7 degrees of Capricorn, retrogrades on April 10th at 9 degrees...goes direct on September 18th at 6 degrees and ends the year at 9 degrees of Capricorn.

NEPTUNE - in Aquarius - 1998-2012 | in Pisces - 2012 - 2025

Neptune was in Aquarius - Uranus' sign - for approximately 15 years. Uranus was in Neptune's sign of Pisces for 8 years. Together, it was a bumpy ride, because Neptune is a water planet in an air sign, and Uranus is an air planet in a water sign. Air and water don't mix, and so they've felt disoriented in each other's signs. However, Uranus/Aquarius is the collective conscious, and Neptune/Pisces is the collective unconscious, so we've had a 'roto rooter' effect, eliminating the old, making way for the new. There have been upsets and jobs lost, as you've been encouraged to get out of the rat race and pursue more personal goals. The nebulousness of Neptune, has found carving a niche for yourself rather difficult. In 2011 it peeks at its home sign, Pisces for a couple of months from April to June. Ahhhhh! Home! water....getting out of the wind of Aquarius....maybe taking a dip in the ocean and feeling secure again. But will Neptune in its own sign be too watery? illusionary?......too misty?....keeping us from having a clear head for the future?

In 2012, on February 4th to be exact, Neptune moves into Pisces for the duration of it's visit. Ooooooooh, it's so good to get out of the electricness of Uranus and get back in the water! But it could get too maudlin. It could get too sensitive, too personal, taking afront at imagined slights. We need to get a 'tough skin' in the area where Pisces is, put some practicality to the illusory oooze and not let it get away from us. There can be a tendency to use drugs more frequently, and also be hoodwinked by advertising. It's a time where a 'big con' could be perpetrated on the country or the world, much like our mortgage issue, so everyone be aware. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Check it out with someone not in your age group, because you'll all be under the same influence. Neptune tends to dissolve where ever it is, so you can feel it's the realest thing ever, and find there's a puppeteer pulling the strings. Resist the temptation to over indulge.

Neptune was last in Pisces starting in 1848, two years after it was discovered. It was in Aquarius in 1846, which is typical and appropriate, as Aquarius energy exposes and reveals and then it went directly into Pisces. Back then it was a time of revolution and change.

Chiron and Neptune hang out together as they both go into Pisces. Chiron was last in Pisces in the 60's so will have its effect on the Uranus/Pluto square, and the foundation of the past that produced the free love era, opened us to computers, and challenged authority. Chiron in Pisces, along with Neptune, looks at the state of our seas, and how they have been depleted, with Neptunian things (plastic) being dumped out there in tremendous amounts. The woulding of the sea will be part of the rebellion to reclaim our waters and keep our world sustainable for future generations.

For you, Aries, Neptune was in your 11th house affecting your dad's money as well as the money of your career. You may have found that you were drawn to friends who were more artsy and creative than practical.

Now Neptune moves into your 12th house of the hidden. It's all about things going on behind the scenes. It's in its own 'house', returning home after being 'on the road' since the middle 1800's. Time to snuggle down and feel the comfort of 'home''s been a long trip and now it's time to evaluate what it's learned, and add to your akashic record Neptune in the 12th heightens your artistic abilities, as well as your interest in the metaphysical and that outside the 'regular world'. You mate may have some job troubles, or a step father may not be who he seems.

Neptune starts the year at 28 of Aquarius. It moves into Pisces for its transit of the sign on February 4th; retros on June 4th at 3 degrees of Pisces, goes direct on November 10th at 0 of Pisces and and ends the year at 1 degree.

URANUS in Aries - 2010-2018

Uranus in Aries chart In 2010, Uranus entered Aries for a brief stint, on May 27th - then went Rx on July 5th, and Rx back into Pisces on August 14th. It went direct on December 6th in Pisces, and then moves into Aries for the balance of it's 8 year stay on March 12, 2011.

Aries likes to be first, and Uranus is the genius inventor of the zodiac, so we can see many Arians moving us into a far reaching computerized future. The last time this happened was 1927-1935, when Neptune dumped us into a depression, so Uranus didn't help. This is bound to be a unique time in history, no matter how you look at it....think of Mars and Uranus together....short tempers, angry exchanges, anger welling up inside til it explodes. On the positive side, it will be a time of opening the world up to new innovations and inventions, as Aries gets kicked in the pants by Uranus, and if Aries energy has been backed up, this will cause it to move forward dynamically again. Certainly, as we've recently seen people packing guns at political events, the push for gun toting freedoms will clash with the eclectic energy of Uranus. Uranus is in the first house in the United States' chart and it certainly is all about "bombs bursting in air" and fighting for individuality and freedoms, yet there is a higher octave of Uranus that is purely cerebral and doesn't like guns....the two extremes will volly for position. Fortunately, as Uranus went into Aries, it met up with Jupiter a scant week or so later in 2010, so we had the two in Aries for part of the year, adding luck and expansion to the ornery two energies, getting them off to a good start anyway. As a friend of mine, the late actress June Ellis (herself an Aquarian) once said, "How can you predict Uranus, when it is unpredictable?" When Uranus enters a new house (new arena of life, more specifically) it throws on the lights, and exposes all that is in that 'room' to be be cleaned out, pulling the rug out from under as it goes, forcing you to move forward in new directions...

Uranus is moving in to square Pluto in 2012. This is the first major aspect since they conjoined in 1966. That was a time of confrontation, 'don't trust anyone over 30', recreational sex and awakening to new paradigms of healing. This is the first test since then, and already we're seeing the fomentation of rebellion and change.

Aries: When Uranus moved into your sign in 2010, it 'exploded' into your first house of Self. Not one to dress dowdy, now tho, you may throw caution to the winds and dye your hair and get some fancy duds that are more in keeping with the "New You". You'll be open to new ideas, and embark on new paths. Those who like to be at the front of the line, will find new ways to do things and create new products. Aviation and computers will see new vistas.....if that's even possible with computers....what will they (you) do next? The possible caution is to watch your explosive temper, but it will be on a short leash. Probably better to put those guns away somewhere safe.

Uranus starts the year at 0 of Aries, goes retrograde on July 13th at 8 degrees of Aries....goes direct on December 13th at 4 degrees Aries, and ends the year at 4 degrees.

SATURN - Enters Libra 10/30/2009 til 10/5/2012. Enters Scorpio on 10/5/2012, at 1:37 pm PDT til 12/23/2014 at 8:38 am PST, when it goes into Sag. Then Rx back into Scorpio on 6/16/15, and goes back into Sag on 9/19/15.

Saturn moved into Libra at the end of October in 2009. Libra is all about beauty for beauty's sake, but now, Librans become more practical. They don't want to spend just to spend, and in general, pull back on the 'disposable income' and start to save for something solid and practical that serves a purpose as well as being decorative. Saturn here sobers Librans, makes them stop and take stock in what has transpired in the past few years. Librans like to get along and defer to other signs, but now, their backbone stiffens and they realize they need to be more assertive.

Aquarius and Gemini will benefit the most from this transit, since Libra trines their sun signs. Capricorns, Arians and Cancers will be the ones tested with this energy, being in the square position, and Aries opposing. Keep your nose to the grindstone and don't try to grandstand, and you have a better opportunity to get thru it on a higher level. Virgos and Scorpios, Pisces and Taurus will feel 'adjustments' taking place ,as Saturn quincunx' (30 degrees) and inconjuncts (150 degrees) their signs. That leaves Leo and Sag in a sextile position to Libra, which will create 2 YODs pointing to Pisces and Taurus, respectively. When Saturn tests, your "answers" are in those houses....but it's up to you to figure it out.

On October 5, 2012, as we move to the national elections in the U.S., Saturn moves into Scorpio for the next 2 1/2 years. Look back 29-30 years ago and remember what occurred when Saturn went thru Scorpio last. That was 1983-84-85, but 1983 was the last time Saturn and Pluto conjuncted, so this will be a lighter trip through the underworld than then. Pluto is all about money, corporations, power, domination and control by surreptious means. Saturn is about rules and regulations, towing the line, going strictly be the book, so this is usually not a fun transit. It tends to tighten money and make acquisitions practical and enduring rather than frivolous.

Pisces and Cancer will benefit most from this transit, because they are in trine to Scorpio and are the other water signs. Saturn will trine their sun at some point, garnering favor from higher ups. Aquarians and Leos be the ones tested as Saturn squares those signs, as well as Taurus in opposition. Time to play by the rules and not try to play by your own. When Saturn checks in, he wants to see everything is to his liking and then he'll dispense just rewards. Capricorn and Virgo will be in sextile, providing an opportunity if you play your cards right. The 'answer' for Virgo is where Aries is in your chart; Cap's is Gemini....where do you need to pioneer Virgie?...and what do you need to learn, Cap?? Sag, and Libra quincunx, and Pisces and Gemini are where the "adjustments" need to be made, moving you in new directions.

For You, Aries, Saturn is now in your 7th house of mate, 2nd child, mom's mom, dad's dad, 3rd sibling after you. Any of these people can get on your nerves now....or you with them. If events haven't gone well in your marriage lately, this will be the time you pull the plug. It's time to look squarely at these people and see where you have to admit you're a lot like them, and they are merely players on the stage, showing you in dramatic form what you need to work on.

When Saturn enters Scorpio in October, 2012, it enters your 8th house of mate's money, roommate's money as well, so you may need to rely on your own income more directly during this time frame. It's also the house of sex, so you may be turned off by it, or in some way it's hard to warm up. Scorpio loves money and this is it's house in your chart, so if you apply tried and true and traditional methods, you could add to your coffers; but Saturn being Saturn, it'll probably make you austere for the time being.

Saturn commences 2012 at 28 degrees of Libra, goes retro on February 7 at 29 degrees, goes Direct on June 25th at 22 degrees, Enters Scorpio on Oct 5 2012 and ends the year at 9 of Scorpio.

JUPITER in Taurus: January 1 - June 12th | in Gemini: June 12th to June 27, 2013. |

Jupiter, planet of luck and growth, starts the year in Taurus, and much like Taurus the Bull, it ambles down the road til June, where it takes up residence in Cancer til the end of the year. Interestingly, last year, it zipped through Aries in no time and was actually in 3 signs in 2011.

Jupiter in Taurus will be best for earth signs, for it will conjunct Taurus planets, of course, and trine the other two earth signs; Virgo and Capricorn.

Earth signs, Virgo, Taurus and Capricorn find Jupiter conjuncting and trining, and Jupiter will trine Pluto in the sky on March 13th, earth signs will profit.

Air signs Gemini, Libra and Aquarius, find Jupiter in Taurus quincunxing (30 degrees), inconjuncting and squaring. There will be some opportunities presented, but it can cause a change in plans.

Water signs, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces find Jupiter in Taurus sextiling, opposing, and sextiling, so Scorpio's mate may come into some money, while Cancerians and Pisceans have an opportunity offered.

Fire signs Aries, Leo, Sag, have Jupiter quincunxing, squaring and inconjuncting from the other side of the air signs. You too, may have to weigh two or more opportunities and decide which one benefits you the most.

Jupiter in Taurus is largesse to the hilt. It can be a time of gaining weight, because Jupiter likes to indulge, and Taurus puts out a weight groaning table of goodies. If you have Jupiter in Taurus at birth, Taurus people are beneficial for you. Jupiter rules Sag tho, and that energy can be dogmatic, while Taurus is conservative and covets, so those who covet and protect their assets will tend to see only what they want to.

Then Jupiter moves into Gemini which will be best for air signs, for it will conjunct Gemini planets, and trine the other two air signs; Libra and Aquarius. Jupiter rules a fire sign, Sag, tho, so the fire can take the air out or the air can flame the fires stronger; temper your excesses.

Earth signs, Virgo, Taurus and Capricorn find Jupiter squaring, quincunxing and opposing. Opportunities occur in the workplace, behind the scenes and with your mate.

Water signs, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces find Jupiter in Gemini quincunxing, inconjuncting , and squaring. Events occuring behind the scenes, in the work places, and the career will find you making new plans.

Fire signs Aries, Leo, Sag, have Jupiter sextiling, sextiling and opposing from the other side. You too, may have to weigh two or more opportunities and decide which one benefits you the most.

Jupiter in Cancerin 2013 brings us home to mother. You can benefit from real estate transactions, and being in the second house of the United States, this could see see our real estate values regaining its strength. You start feeling your foundation is solidifying again, and you can start making some plans for the future, knowing you have a soft place to fall.

For you, Aries, Jupiter starts the year in Taurus and your second house of money. It was probably a good year last year with Jupiter whisking thru Aries and entering Taurus....Jupiter focusing on you and then your money. Time to make hay while the sun shines and get it harvested and socked away by June....not that it's going to be taken away when Jupiter goes into Gemini, but the opportunities which aided you in planting your seeds now need to move on to nurturing the fledgling plants so they can grow to maturity. The nice trine from Jupiter to Pluto on March 13th occurs from your money house to the career, so a promotion may be in order. In June, Jupiter moves into Gemini and your third house of communication. Opportunities open up for you to go back to school.....or you find yourself working at your children's school or getting involved in the neighborhood and community action committees. Education and knowledge and communication are your cup of tea now.

Jupiter starts 2012 at 0 of Taurus, moves into Gemini on June 12th. It retrogrades at 16 degrees on October 4th, and ends the year at 7 Gemini.
