Well, this is hard. There's no way I want to promote this guy in any way, shape or form, but it's a good chart from which to learn.
Quarterback Michael Vick was recently released from jail after serving time for abusing dogs. He's trying to rehabilitate himself by appearing on "60 Minutes" by appearing to have 'learned his lesson'. It falls on deaf ears for me.
Vick was born on June 26, 1980, in Newport News, Virginia. 'Wish we had a birth time. I could almost speculate it was between 7-9 pm during the time of The Dog (remember Dr. Phil has all those 'dog' expressions and his rising turned up in Dog time.) This would give him Capricorn rising. The harshness of the extreme negative Capricorn - that would fit, wouldn't it? That would put Saturn conj Mars and Pluto in the 10th house of career. Mars is usually in a cardinal house (1-4-7-10) for a sports performer. So it might just be accurate.
Vick is a Cancerian with a Sag moon. Dad (Cancer sun) probably wanted to stay home and Mom (Sag moon) wanted to travel, so there was the potential of strife in the home. Moon in Sag gives another potential for sports.
So, we have this sensitive Cancerian sun sign with a more strident moon sign. My husband was a Cancer, and at age 5 his observations of life led him to believe that if he didn't toughen himself up, he wasn't going to survive. Maybe Vick did too. ....sort of got out of hand, I'd say.
The aspects that point up this behavior is Mars conjunct Saturn in Virgo, square Venus in Gemini, while Netune opposes Venus and squares Mars/Saturn. Venus is the native in the chart. The sun is your father and individuality, the moon is your mom and emotions; Mercury is your siblings and communication.....then when we get to Venus we get to you...Venus is love and attraction. Vick may feel more like a Gemini than a Cancerian. And the fact that his sun is in a water sign and his Venus is in an air sign, doesn't help. Water is emotion and Air is non-emotion. Water is subjective, Air is objective. Jung said you can't do both at the same time. You can switch in a nano second from one to another, but you can't feel and be objective at the same time. Referring back to my husband again, he was a Cancer with many Gemini planets. It was like living with Jeckyl and Hyde.....Most times he'd be rational and linear, and then hit an emotional button and he'd be 'gone'...into an emotional tizzy for the rest of the day, or a day or two before sanity reinstated itself.
So Venus is Vick, and he is squared by Saturn/Mars and opposed by Neptune and actually trined by Pluto.....but Nep pulls it into the Nep/Pluto Master YOD of key lessons to learn on this earth.
Mars/Saturn gives one an inclination to be at least of a militaristic bent, rules and regulations and no nonsense, and in the extreme can create meanness in an individual. Saturn is authority and with Mars (anger) creates a potential harshness. Squaring his Venus just adds to it. Then, Neptune opposes Venus and squares M/S creating a T square...we always look to the open part of the grand cross and find it's Pisces.....so moving into a more spiritual space would help to heal this. Neptune opposing Venus can attract people addicted to drugs or alcohol, and adds to the possibiity of being victimized or the victimizer.
The other aspect is Mercury squaring Pluto, which usually indicates a manipulative person with words.....getting his way by coercing, cajoling, and otherwise pulling down others' self esteem.
Saturn was moving in to conjunct Pluto again, in late 1982, and when we look at it, where Saturn is in 1980, there are two Master Yods.....Saturn/Mars sextiling Uranus with Pluto the trigger in the middle, pointing at Aries, and Pluto sextiling Neptune with Uranus the trigger, pointing at Taurus and Chiron. For the majority of people born in the early 80's, they have this combination, sans Mars, which moved on....but then caught up with Pluto, then Uranus and Neptune.....so there's a potential for this generation to have latent sociopathic instincts.
Saturn is possessive and Pluto is jealous. As much as we like to think of Uranus as this freedom loving, liberty seeking planet, it's placement in the first house of the United States shows it's propensity for war and 'bombs bursting in air'. Uranus is explosives, remember.. The Yod, pointing at Aries, heightens the Mars/Saturn combo for brutality. So in the first 7 years of life, Saturn went over each of these pivotal planets, ticking off the yods....someone came down hard on him.
In 1982 Saturn caught up with Pluto in the sky for everyone; that's never a fun time...for Vick it occured at the end of the solar 4th house in the 'victim' area in the Chinese overlay. It's still within range to be the trigger of the S/M/Uranus sextile, sending the energy over to Aries, with abandonment and betrayal in the Chinese overlay. Make your own assumptions to what might have gone on.
In 1986, when he was about 6, Uranus squared Mars/Saturn, conjuncted Neptune. Uranus opposed Venus and Chiron conjuncted it. Chiron, the wounding, opposed Neptune, squared Saturn/Mars, indicating a severe wounding of some kind. and then in 1987 Saturn had it's first square to itself, which is always a testing time, while Chiron squared it as well. When Saturn, Chiron and Pluto gang up on a planet, particularly Venus, it portends a time of deep wounding.
Chinese Astrology:
Vick was born in the Year of the Monkey and the month of the Cat. the Monkey is the archetypal animal for the Urinary Bladder and the Cat represents the Large Intestine.
Conscience resides in the Bladder. Good Monkeys can have a masterful conscience, bad ones have none or very little. Monkeys like to control....everything. ....remember "bladder control'?....Monkeys need to trust and have faith and let life flow. That's hard for a negative Monkey. They want it their way or the highway...the hell with the right or wrong of it....conscience be damned.
When we look at the Chinese overlay, Mars/Saturn is in the Horse/Heart area, which could create a heartless person, Pluto is in the victim area (so he can be the victimizer big time) , and Uranus is in the Monkey/Bladder area, with Neptune in Rooster/fear.....the Yods point to abandonment, betrayal, anger and rage.
I'm with those who don't want to see him back in the NFL. He tried to be contrite on 60 Minutes. But people like that are very good at pretending to be like others...to watch and act as someone with conscience and compassion would....."Monkey See, Monkey Do"? As some of the sports radio guys suggested, his handlers worked with him to get the right tone, and elicit the compassion of the public that he didn't have for those poor dogs. Let him get a little bar and grill somewhere and never be seen again. He should not be a role model for kids and get the adulation of the crowd.
Yet, that being said, when you examine someone's chart, it's easier to get some understanding...I would hate to have been born with that chart....but one can choose to take it to its positive and not succuumb to the negative. It's been said that a chart can show a criminal or a prison warden......a Madame or Mother Theresa, it all depends on the decisions we make and how we use the energy.
