Saturn in Virgo conjuncted McCain's sun back on July 16th......Saturn can sit hard on one's sun sign.....like a big black cloud moves over the bright, shining sun, and tests us. Soon the cloud moves on, but while it's there, things seem harder, one is criticized more....and for a Virgo, that isn't good. Virgos, like the Snake in Chinese astrology, "have to be right, can't be wrong and have to have the last word"..... more from a need for perfection rather than ego. But, McCain made a number of gaffes since the conjunction and the media was quick to jump on it.
Week of Oct 26th-Nov. 1st
The week before the election. Saturn is opposing Uranus in the sky on the 4th and moving in to oppose his own Saturn. ....and Saturn has just moved off his Neptune, triggering off that Neptune/Saturn opposition in his chart. Lots of illusion/reality....and Saturn can make us feel like we've been in a Fool's Paradise and now we've got REALITY with a capital R-E-A-L-I -T-Y. 2008 is not good for a Virgo like McCain to run for president. Saturn in his own sign makes things harder....not forbidden, but sooooo much harder unless the soul has evolved. Next week, there are a lot of squares. Mercury squaring the moon and Pluto, Sun squaring Mars, Venus squarinig Saturn, Venus squaring Venus.....I wouldn't want to be around him.
What Happened:Going down to the wire, and the staff is abandoning ship, blaming everyone else. Yet they still have a smile tacked on their faces, predicting an upset. McCain gives an interview to Robin Roberts and speaks about Palin, reiterating how he thinks she's fine for vice president, "....OR...." and rolls his eyes.....presumably at the thought of his demise. Saturn and Neptune affecting a chart can make things very discouraging.
Week of Oct 19th-25th
This week there's a lot of stress. The Sun squares his Moon on the 20th....does that every year at this time, but the Sun also squares Pluto on Oct 21st...also occurs each year. The Moon opposes Pluto in his chart, so his mother is obviously a very strong, head strong woman. This could bring another such woman in to confront him. Then on the 22nd of Oct, Mars squares natal Mars.....now this is one that doesn't happen at this juncture all the time, that could be the kicker; frustration and stress, of not getting what he wants. There are also 4 sextiles, which we used to think were 'opportunities' but now know they form 'yods' or shifts, sometimes unceremoniously.
What Happened:Colin Powell endorses Obama, as does, later in the week, Scott McClellan. Wm. Buckley's son endorsed him the previous week. That 'strong woman' looks to be Sarah Palin. She's showing the Aquarian-with-Mars independence, and doing her own thing and not getting permission from the campaign hierarchy....maybe that's why McCain was with her at the Brian Williams-NBC interview. They issue an ad saying in essence if we vote for Obama we'll die. The highest paid person in the campaign this month is Palin's makeup artist and we find that she's wearing $150,000 worth of clothes. At the end of the week they disclose McCain is not due to attend the election night party, he'll be on video from outside somewhere.
Week of Oct 12th-18th
Mercury goes direct on the 15th and Neptune goes direct on Nov. 2nd. It's been a pretty soft Merc retro period for individuals, but this wall street 'correction' is certainly a retro thing. For McCain, Mars opposes Uranus on Oct 18th, so there could be another switcheroo and changing direction. But as we move to the election day, Saturn is moving closer and closer to oppose his own Saturn on November 18th... Since Saturn conjuncted his natal Neptune on Oct. 8th, he has this Reality/Unreality thing going on. Neptune is the illusion and Saturn comes along like a cop to take his billy club and cut thru the mirage and show it for what it is.
What Happened:The third debate was held, and Obama came out the winner. McCain brings up Joe the Plumber some twenty-odd times then accuses Obama of ruining the guy's life. Not good for a Virgo to be trying for high office when Saturn is in VIrgo, and Saturn is about to oppose his own Saturn. Virgos are the power behind the throne, not usually the ones in the limelight, so the Virgo part of him probably doesn't like all the stuff he's been forced to say. I really don't think either one of them likes to disparage the other. When he said to the person in the crowd "No, he's a good man, you don't have anything to be scared of," that's probably his truth.
Week of Oct 5th-11th
This week has the potential to calm down a bit...but on the 8th, Saturn conjuncts his Neptune, and natal Neptune is curiously close to his sun....I say 'curiously', because that usually produces a more spiritual, ethereal, artistic, creative individual....it also rules oil, but he doesn't seem to have oil connections...it might have something to do with his POW days. Anyway, Saturn went over his sun earlier in the year, and now Saturn conjuncts Nep, which it hasn't done for 29 years. Saturn in the sky is moving in to oppose Uranus on 11/4, and first it conjuncts his Neptune...Saturn is desperately trying to get these two planets to color within the lines and obey the rules, but Uranus and Neptune don't like to be constrained...they are liable to rebel.
What Happened: The second debate occurred, and was generally viewed as hurting neither, altho he was chastized in the media for calling Obama "That One". Either it was just a slip....or if it was on purpose, as I thought later, it was in keeping with the idea that 'he's not one of us" that they are trying to push.....With the stock market plummeting dangerously, Saturn conjuncting his Neptune seems to be unraveling his parachute.
Week of Sept 28th - Oct 4th
The week is fraught with stress. On the 29th, Saturn squares McCain's Jupiter.....all that largesse and good will, expansion and full speed ahead hits a speed bump. Also on the 29th, Mars squares the Moon, maybe not much of an aspect, but the very next day Mars squares Pluto as Moon and Pluto oppose in McCain's chart (his mom is obviously a strong, dominating figure as we've seen); that might see his temper exploding if he isn't on prescriptions to keep him mellow. Venus opposes Uranus on Oct 1st as well....something pops up we didn't expect.
What Happened: It was the week of the VP debate. Palin didn't do very well on her interview with Katie Couric. The $700 billion dollar bill was before Congress. The president was on camera taking the play away from McCain. As the economic crisis heightened, McCain started dropping in the polls. They keep talking about McCain being a Maverick, but he doesn't have any strong Uranus type energy. With Scorpio half of his 1st house, and Pluto ruled, with his quick temper, he just wants it his way or the highway. That's not a maverick.
Week of Sept 21st - 27th
On the 26th, Uranus, being opposed by Saturn in the sky on Nov 4th, conjuncts his Saturn, triggering off his natal opposition of Saturn to Neptune (Reality vs Unreality). Uranus conjuncts Saturn and opposes Neptune, while Saturn conjuncts Neptune and opposes Saturn. Saturn and Neptune tend to be planets that touch off depression and together aren't good. One can feel in a fool's paradise, and then Saturn comes along to teach Reality 101.
What Happened:
The economy started to tank, the president again wanted a no questions asked just give it to me bill....'just $700 billion dollars".....why not take it out of the money prior presidents took from social security.? I wondered aloud cynically....Uranus, being Uranus, threw in a monkey wrench, by McCain saying he was going to suspend his campaign and they should delay the debate.......uh huh......because he had to go to Washington and deal with it as a senator....only he blew off David Letterman saying he was flying back to D.C.....but he was actually giving an interview to Katie Couric......Uranus pulling the rug out from under and exposing what is going on. Few people believe this isn't a stunt because he didn't want to do the debate....or he wants to cancel the v.p. debate in some way. .....Letterman was pissed.
McCain said he wouldn't be at the debate unless there was a resolution, but there wasn't a resolution and he did the debate anyway. He never looked at Obama once. People speculated it was contemptuous, but I'd love to hear what a body language expert would say. Being a Virgo, he doesn't like to be wrong, and the Virgo part of him, at least, doesn't like confrontation, and the Virgo part of him isn't comfortable spouting stuff from his camp that he doesn't like.
McCain is getting heat for saying one thing one day and something else the next, but that's more or less his Saturn opposite Neptune (sometimes strict, sometimes ethereal) and Uranus comes along to pull the rug out.
Week of Sept 14th - 20th
Mercury and Venus are in his first house, then Mars catches up the rear on the 16th, so Mars will be in his first house for about a month, making him more prone to anger quickly. The trio then inconjuncts his Saturn, which might not ordinarily be much, but all in the first could amp it up.
What Happened: Well, Mars snuck in and inconjuncted Saturn on the 19th, which isn't that much...forward motion (Mars) being stymied by the rules and regs (Saturn), BUT Uranus is moving in to conjunct Saturn by Sept 26, and then Saturn is moving in to conjunct Neptune by Oct 8th, and by Nov 18th, Saturn opposes natal Saturn. So the Saturn opposite Uranus aspect in the sky coming up by Nov. 4th, is triggering his Saturn....and he's starting to feel it.
They've called it his worst week. Chuck Hagel (R) said Palin was not fit to take over, that it was an insult to the American people. Carly Fiorina (a Virgo herself) said none of the 4 running for president was fit to run a corporation......exit Carly stage right. He seemed flumoxed by the Spanish station asking about Spain's leader,.. he started the week by saying the fundamentals of the economy are strong, as Leman Bros. was in meltdown, then tried to cover with 'fundamentals' meant workers...one of his associates said he invented the Blackberry....he said he would fire the SEC guy, but the president can't fire him.
So, Uranus is moving in to conjunct his Saturn on the 26th, and what does Uranus do? It pulls the rug out from underneath....or another metaphor is that it moves into a room and turns the light on and exposes what is going on. So what he is trying to control by being the 'authority figure', isn't going over very well with Uranus, the hippie, and it likes nothing better than to burst the bubble on pomposity....another word for 'authority' in its mind.
Then Saturn is conjuncting Neptune, which Uranus has already done in the last year.....but it's still close enough to be in play....Neptune is oil....Neptune is spindoctoring....Neptune is spiritual....Neptune is unreality - dreams, fantasy, creative visualization, and the opposite of Saturn, which is REALITY with a capital R E A L I T Y. The two by themselves can cause depression and the two aspecting themselves can really cause a dump in confidence. So all the la de da aspect of Neptune is being hit hard by Saturn. Rules and regulations...playing it by the book....sticking to the book....no painting outside the lines....so he's getting it from both ends. ...and here he is a Virgo, with Saturn in Virgo til next year, opposing his Virgo in Pisces......it's a wonder he is where he is. ...altho Saturn can manifest, but hard fought and hard won.
- As a side light, Carly Fiorina, former head of Hewlett-Packard, was born on September 6, 1954 in Austin, Texas. This week Saturn conjuncted her Virgo sun. So, this was a Virgo being more of a Virgo, judging her fellow man more harshly than a Virgo would normally do.....and the other Virgo, McCain, who doesn't cater to being criticized like most Virgos, said that's enough of you...and she got the boot. Carly will do fine. She has the power point of the Master Yod (Neptune sextile Pluto) bouncing off Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Cancer for quite a spell....she'll be fine.....no crocodile tears for Carly, she'll be JUST FINE!
Week of Sept 7th - 13th
The Sun in Virgo does a number this week, squaring McCain's Jupiter, conjuncting his Neptune and opposing his Saturn, which shows that he has a T-square, which the sun ticks off every year at this time....Mercury, Venus and Mars all close together in Libra, first sextile his Mars, and then his Jupiter, which could provide some opportunities but at the end of the week, they square his MC (10th house of career) and then conjunct his ascendant.....probably not too noteworthy, except that Mars makes a trek thru his first house for about a month; maybe we'll see the McCain temper after all. . The one thing to look for is that Pluto goes direct on September 9th and inconjuncts his natal Pluto.....he may be getting off track and he's whipped back into line.
What Happened: McCain's visit to The View wasn't the fluff piece he might have expected. Whoopi asked if she should fear going back to slavery. The McCain camp launched a hit piece that Obama wanted sex education for kindergartners, which distorted the whole concept.
Week of August 31st - Sept 6th
A short week on transits. On the first the sun trines Uranus, and Mars and Mercury inconjunct it....what sounds good may backfire. Next week sees a plethora of aspects, rather a mixed bag. In the sky, the Sun conjuncts Saturn in Virgo, and on the 12th, the sun oposes McCain's Saturn, which means that Saturn is moving in to oppose its natal self in November....this could be a time frame that shows how the election is going to go.
What Happened: Well, the sun trine to Uranus seemed to bring in Sarah Palin. ...so far, so good. The Republican Convention was curtailed enough by the hurricane to keep ol' Geo. W. away, that was a nice Uranus happening.
Week of August 24th - 30th
It's birthday week for McCain on the 29th. Mercury and Venus moving from Virgo to Libra and catching up with Mars, find the 'day writers' in our soap opera, conjuncting his Venus on the 24th, then trines his moon in Capricorn, so it should be a good week all told. Merc/Venus end the week conjuncting Mercury, all nice little communicative transits.
What Happened: Cindy McCain was sent to Georgia...never heard what happene to that. McCain nominates Sarah Palin as his v.p. As we go into the convention next week, Hurricaine Gustav threatens to shorten the event, while people like Bush and Schwarzenegger aren't scheduled to attend, perhaps aiding McCain, keeping the focus on him.
Week of August 17th - 23rd
After the previous week, it may seem like things can't go wrong...but maybe they can.. Venus and Mercury square Jupiter on the 18th and 19th, and then conjunct his Neptune on the 19th, and then opposes Saturn on the 22nd......there is a tendency to be too grandiose, do some spin doctoring and then some tough talk.
What Happened: A seemingly innocuous question asked by politico.com, "How many homes do you and your wife have?" elicited a non answer...."I'll have my staff get back to you". The nebulousness of the Neptune answer, got a Saturnian smack. Comics and news anchors jumped all over it. McCain probably doesn't know because they aren't in his name. ...which makes it rather worse. At the end of the week, Obama names BIden his v.p.....
Week of August 10th-16th:
The week is potentially good for McCain. On August 11th Venus conjuncts his Sun, portending good energy, and on the 13th, Mercury (communication) meets up with it as well. In the middle on the 12th, the Sun inconjuncts (stresses) his Saturn, causing him to take a detour. By the 13th, Venus trines his Uranus (sudden good luck) , and on the 15th, Saturn and Mercury move in to trine as well, from Virgo to Taurus - some solid, earthy advancement.It's probably the best week of the campaign....it gets dicey afterwards.
What Happened: The cold war was reintroduced with Russia and Georgia mixing it up.
Week of August 3rd - 9th
The week starts off with some sort of implosion, as Mars opposes his Saturn...these two together can make one feel mean. One wants to strike out against those who are seemingly holding him back from making the progress he wants to. On the 4th, the sun conjuncts his Mars, so he has a strident desire to move forward. By the 7th the sun trines his Jupiter, so his mood should lighten. The week of the 10th to the 16th looks better for him.
What happened: They kept running the ad associating Obama with Britney and Paris. He had to back down and admit that inflating tires correctly actually does save a lot of gas. He suggested his wife Cindy sign up to participate in the Miss Buffalo Chip contest, in Sturgis, S.D. at a motorcycle rally.
Week of July 27th - August 2nd
This week, communication continues to dog McCain's footsteps. Mercury sextile Mercury on the 27th - that's ok, that's harmonious. He had a good interview with George Stephanopolous - but then it squares Uranus on the 31st and conjuncts Mars on the 1st....So, Mars squares Uranus in his chart, which is partially where the quick temper comes from, so Mercury will tick it off, and maybe something will be said extemporaneously that he'll regret. At the end of the week, Mercury trines Jupiter, good news of some sort may save the day. In the middle of the week , Mars conjuncts Neptune, which can kind of dull the forcefulness of Mars for a bit.....plans for the future are a mirage?
What Happened: Mars (impetuous action) and Uranus (sudden changes) were the planets in focus this week. One thing about Uranus, it wants change, but it wants to instill its own foundation from that change. Saturn is still sitting on McCain's sun, and he's being more critical and judgemental than he might normally be. The Neptune effect seemed to be the Britney/Paris connection to Obama ad that kind of fizzled.
Barack Obama - born August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii at 7:24 PM AHST. This is the new birth time from the birth certificate circulated recently. I need to change his chart reading. I rather like the rectified one that Star IQ did, but this gives him Aquarius rising, which would be breaking new ground. ...and one wonders how accurate these birth times are for politicians since Churchill knew Hitler was using an astrologer, so hired one to find out what Hitler was being told.
While McCain had Saturn sitting on his sun, Obama found Saturn sitting on his Pluto on July 25th....so while he had a rock star tour around the world, still, good ol' Saturn had to find something wrong with it. Can't win for losing.
Week of Oct 26th-Nov. 1st
The final week til the election. Neptune is stationary getting ready to go direct on the 2nd. It's a potent time for Neptune, and has had a hand in the economic slide. In the long range view, Pluto has been flirting with opposing Obama's Venus all year. When he was about 10, Pluto squared his Venus as it went into Libra, causing some experiences which indelibly marked him, and now as he goes thru this election, the energy is replaying itself, with new 'actors' in the roles, giving him the opportunity to face it as an adult, not a child, and find resolution.
What Happened: He delivers a half hour 'infomercial' just before the World series which was seen by 26-33 million depending on who's ratings you look at. He has an interview with Rachel Maddow on Thursday where he feels pretty confident going in to the final few days before the election.
Week of Oct 19th-25th
Saturn inconjuncts the ascendant on Oct 20th, it might have an effect, as the campaign gets closer, might not. Mars squares the Sun, and then the sun squares Jupiter and Venus squares Pluto, there are fires to put out.
What Happened: It was announced that his grandmother who raised him, is gravely ill and he's leaving the campaign to be with her for a couple of days, Thurs and Friday. We see, that even tho Saturn in the 7th and Uranus in his first aren't aspecting any of his planets, still it is in effect in these houses. The 4th house is mom, so if we 'turn the wheel' and make the 4th house his mom's first house, then her mom shows up in the 7th (the 4th house from her 1st, including it) ....and Saturn is in the 7th house. One hopes she has the fortitude to live to see him elected and inaugurated. They say she was born on Oct 26 and will be 86. Just looking at a solar chart, her daughter's first child, Barack, is posited in her 9th house, where Pluto is, indicating a powerful man. Lots of incredibly horrible stuff is being thrown at Obama as the front runner in these last couple of weeks.
Week of Oct 12th-18th
The final debate is held this week. Saturn is moving up to oppose Uranus in the sky. They aren't connecting any of his planets, but if this new ascendant is accurate, Uranus is in the first house, close to trining his Midheaven, a good point for good news, and Saturn is sextiling the Midheaven; both easy aspects. Neptune is going direct on Nov. 2nd starting to move away from Chiron and the wounding (in the sky),
What Happened: The third debate was his. The last few weeks are getting ugly. They are throwing everything but the kitchen sink at him. I got an email that said he was involved in a gay murder.....how far will they go? There are no limits I guess. What happened to may the best man win?????
Week of Oct 5th-11th
The sun sextiles Obama's sun, providing an opportunity, Mars squares his Jupiter and then trines his Venus which are beneficial. Then Mars squares his Mercury which could be an angry retort.
What Happened:The 2nd debate occcured this week, and Obama is pretty much declared the winner. They are likening him to FDR and the New Deal, and the 44th president will be of that lineage according to the U.S. chart (see article).
Week of Sept 28th-Oct 4th
Venus starts the week by sextiling Pluto on the 29th, an oportunity to shine, but then squares his sun on October 4th....probably not big enough to change anything. Venus also conjuncts his Neptune on Oct 1st, so it's a rather gauzy week.
What Happened:The $700 billion dollar bill was passed, the v.p. debate occurred, and Obama is gaining in the polls.
Week of Sept 21st - 27th
The week starts with the sun trining his moon and Jupiter, some good momentum. Venus trines his Venus which brightens the day, and Venus' squares to Jupiter and Mercury aren't that much. At the end of the week, Mars squares Saturn; he shouldn't be doing any extemporaneous exercise, as Mars rules muscles and Saturn rules bones, and they don't work well together.....could also be some angry retorts. Saturn moving in to oppose Uranus in the sky by Nov 4th, election day, is in his 7th to first house, but don't aspect any major planet in the process. The 7th could also be looked at as his v.p., Joe Biden, as well as wife, Michelle, so just the fact the planets are there might trigger a disagreement as they come in to alignment.
What Happened: As the economy tanks and McCain wants to put off their debate, Obama says it should go on as planned. Presidents need to multi task and handle many different fronts at once. The debate went off, McCain never looked at him, and after some nervous stress at the beginning, Obama became relaxed, and told him directly when McCain was making mis statements about him.
Week of Sept 14th - 20th
More sextiles of opportunity this week, with Sun trining his Saturn, hilighting approval from those in authority, but by the end of the week, Venus squares Saturn...not a big transit, but some criticism could arise.
What Happened: While McCain tried to blame Obama for the economic meltdown....?????..... Obama shot back out in front in the polls.
Week of Sept 7th - 13th
All sextiles this week. The three musketeers, Mercury, Venus and Mars close in Libra sextile his sun. Jupiter goes direct on the 8th and inconjuncts the sun, so there might be a 'burb' at the outset.
What Happened: Altho we dislike squares, sometimes they are good. There wasn't much omph in the energy this week with the planets in Libra, and not much else happening. He did sit down with Bill Clinton and strategize.
Week of August 31st - Sept 6th -The week starts with Venus trining Jupiter, which brings benefits. Mercury squared Venus on the 30th, and by the 31st Venus squares as well, just as Venus sextiles Mercury on the first of Sept. Probably not strong enough to cause much of a problem, but not the cresendo of a week like the last one. That all sounds good, but the sun conjuncts Saturn in the sky on the 3rd, just past his Pluto...could be a clinker in the midst of the good stuff.
What Happened:It's the week of the Republican convention so he was behind the scenes most of the time. But the sun conjuncting Saturn in the sky for everyone on the 3rd seemed to cause Palin to eclipse his place in the sun for a bit.
Week of August 24th - 30th - It's the week of the DNC convention in Denver. On Aug 24th the sun sextiles his Venus, and Venus conjuncts his Mars, providing some good vibes. Then on the 25th & 26th Mercury and Venus in the sky together in Virgo trines his Saturn, leading those in authority to proffer their approval. Mercury takes off a bit speedier, moves into Libra and trines Obama's moon and Jupiter, creating a grand trine on the 29th, while the sun conjuncts his Pluto. Seeing that he will accept the nomination on the 28th, the stars are aligning for a coronation. By the 30th and 31st, Venus has moved into Libra and trines his moon and Jupiter; another grand trine. Ta da!
What Happened: Hillary and Bill got in line and supported him, if not endorsed him. The heavens held back the rain, and the acceptance speech in Mile High Stadium reached a high cresendo by the end of the week.
Week of August 17th - 23rd -
The week starts off with a mixed bag. Sun conjuncts his Uranus, providing a sudden opportunity, yet it also inconjncts (stresses) Saturn, so it might backfire. Mercury (communication) and Venus (magnetic attraction) inconjunct his ascendant on the 20th, providing an artful zig or zag, while Mars does a trifecta, trining Jupiter on the 20th, squaring Venus on the 21st and sextiling Mercury on the 22nd - all potentially good; Mars squaring Venus can give him the push at the right time. If this time is correct, then the Sun squares his Midheaven on the 21st, which could cause a distraction. Mercury conjuncts his Mars on the 23rd, providing some strong talk, but as the next week dawns, Venus conjuncts Mars as well, so softens it a bit.
What Happened: Obama got the benefit of the "I don't know how many homes I have" McCain gaffe, and then chose Joe Biden as his v.p.
August 10th - 16th:
While he takes a week's vacation in Hawaii for some much needed R&R, Venus and Mercury are moving in to conjunct his Pluto, on the 11th and 14th, respectively, lending more power and charisma. Mars (advancement) trines his Saturn (responsibility) on the 12th, providing steady, positive movement forward.
What Happened: During the week it was revealed that the 'little incident" of the plane having problems on July 7th was more than what they told us. There was an emergency where the pilot couldn't get control of the instruments til they got to 10,000 feet. Uranus was opposing his Mars during that time. Uranus being air planes among other things and the two of them together can signal irritation that causes rash actions.. Actually, I had Uranus oppose my Mars in Virgo last year, and didn't even realize it til it was over.....so it depends on what else is going on how it manifests....but certainly here, this was why I was concerned during this time frame, but wasn't sure how it would play out.
Week of August 3rd - 9th:It's Barack's birthday on the 4th, setting the tone for the new year. On the 7th Mars conjuncts his Mars, so he may be more inclined to hit back at the rhetoric being sent his way Also on the seventh, Venus sextiles Venus and Mercury conjuncts Uranus - bringing more popularity and a sudden revelation. The week of the 10th to the 16th sees power being his ally.
What Happened: A fairly quiet week. His birthday went by without much fanfare. They flew to Hawaii to start a week's vacation and rest up for the convention and the rest of the campaign.
Week of July 27 - August 2nd
This week, the Sun and Mercury conjunct in Leo are squaring his Neptune in Scorpio. The sun does this every year at this time in his chart, but Mercury there enhances it. It shines light on his vision for the future. On August 2nd, Venus conjuncts his Uranus in Leo, which will provide a sudden bit of good luck.
What Happened:
- the mirage of Neptune expressed as false ads from the McCain campaign....maybe even the vacuousness of Britney and Paris Obama was paired with, to make him look insignificant. Saturn conjuncting his Pluto is still in effect since 7/25, and the powers that be are coming down hard on him, trying to discredit him before the Olympics and his address to the crowd in the football arena in Denver to accept the nomination.
| The United States' chart shows Uranus squaring Mars on Sept 6th, just after the Sun conjuncts Saturn in Virgo in the sky....Mars is in the U.S. ' first house of "Self" along with Uranus, which usually indicates a short fuse. Now Uranus squares it from the 11th house of mass communication. Just like Obama's plane incident with Uranus opposing his Mars, sudden aggression can occur. At the same time Neptune, Chiron and the north node in Aquarius, are all flirting with the U.S. moon in the 10th....messing with our mortgages, real estate, foundation of the country since it is a Cancerian country and the moon rules Cancer. Since Neptune dissolves wherever it is, I hope it gets into the 11th house before it dissolves our stature in the world.
9/11/08 - Looks like the energy of Uranus square Mars exhibited itself in the form of Sarah Palin. Uranus - something sudden out of the blue no one anticipated - introduced us to Aquarian Sarah Palin, born February 11, 1964 in SandPoint, Idaho. Aquarius is Uranus' sign, but to bring in Mars, it gave us a woman with Sun conjunct Mars conjunct Saturn.....almost obliterating the Uranus/Aquarius energy. In McCain's chart, Sun conjuncts Neptune, and right now, Neptune sits on Palin's sun....and while we look at Neptune as ethereal, and spiritual and mystic and creative visualization and dreams and fantasy....and dissolving whereever it is....on a material level it does rule......OIL.......

Sarah Palin - born February 11, 1964, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Sarah Palin was named John McCain's v.p. choice on August 29th. She's an Aquarius on the cusp of Pisces, with a Capricorn moon on the cusp on Aquarius. We don't have her time of birth. On the day she was born, the Sun and Mars and Saturn were conjunct with Chiron nearby. Well, here again, we have Mars in a prominent position, thus indicating pioneering, but she's not an Aries or Aries rising which seems to be necessary, like Geraldine Ferraro as first woman vp, and Nancy Pelosi as first Speaker of the House. The Sun and Mars combo gives Palin that Aries quality she exhibits, shooting guns and the like, being agressive and even strident. Saturn and Mars together gives her a military type assertiveness, and the two with the sun may provide her conservative views and no nonsense approach. Venus and Jupiter are in Aries adding an element of luck to pioneering goals, but not enough, I think, to push it over the top.
I'm always surprised when an Aquarian/Pisces type is grounded in conservatism, but that Saturn with the sun can do it, with Moon in late Capricorn.......
Week of Oct 26th-Nov. 1st
At the end of the month, Venus squares the Uranus/Pluto combo, normally not much, but it's involved with all that 'stuff' going off from the other outer planets. Oct 30th, Mars conjuncts Neptune.....something she should have taken care of but didn't probably comes to light. The week of the election Mars squares the Sun and Mars...In fact her Mars opposes McCain's Mars in a wide orb.... they probably aren't getting on well at this point. It was said he snubbed her on the bus in recent weeks.
What Happened: She continues to deliver the same message. It's suggested that she's breaking with McCain to establish herself for the next election. She's 'punked' by some dj's. Neptune didn't do well by the gals this year. Hillary had Neptune sesquiquadrate her Neptune as part of the Master Yod, and Palin had Neptune on her sun sign.......what seems to be is not.
Week of Oct 19th-25th
This week, the faster moving planets aren't doing much, but Saturn sextiles Neptune on the 23rd, which ties into the Nep/Sat opposition......and as it moved away from conjuncting her Pluto on 9/15, it now picks up the sextile to Neptune, which triggers the Master Neptune Sextile Pluto YOD, which sends the energy down to Chiron in Pisces, her wounding. Just like a pin ball machine, the planets are triggering each other off one at a time, bringing up patterns of the past. In December, Pluto squares Venus. It was close to opposing her Venus at birth, not an easy time for a little girl, and now it comes to a square point, recycling those events of her infancy which were not pleasant.
What Happened:The $150,000 wardrobe gets a big play......heck, I thought Michelle's little $148 b&w number she wore on "The View" in the summer was a bit pricey! Palin, being an Aquarian, is loving the limelight, and with Mars and Saturn close to her sun, it;s starting to leak out that she's starting to be her own rogue maverick (now she IS a maverick, being an Aquarian) breaking from the hierarchy of the campaign, and setting her sights for after the election and how she'll be perceived. on Friday, she gave testimony to the second Alaska inquiry into her comportment as a governor. She calls it "tasergate". Keith Olbermann wonders aloud, if her firing of the guy was not for firing her ex-brotherinlaw, why is she calling it "Tasergate" when the allegation is that the bro-in-law tasered her nephew among other things?????
Week of Oct 12th-18th
Mercury goes direct on the 15th. The sun trines her Sun and Mars and Saturn this week, but it does so every year at this time, but better to have it than not at this stage. Venus tho is squaring those guys just before; not intense but stress all the same. Saturn is moving in to oppose Uranus in the sky, a push-pull of conservatism vs progressive, and Neptune, going direct on Nov. 2nd is going to do so within orb of her Aquarian sun. Neptune dissolves wherever it's at, and the sun is our individuality. Her face to the world is being stripped away.
What Happened: Her poll numbers are in meltdown (Neptune) and she is a bigger albatross than Bush to McCain at this point. She takes issue with McCain on some key points. She is on Saturday Night Live. Being an Aquarian she's undoubtedly loving all the attention and fame. As Neptune gets closer to going direct and conjuncting her sun, we are learning more and more about this 'reformer', her $150,000 wardrobe, and the money she charges the state for transporting her children around. And as the different political talk shows report, she's going around the country saying the same things over and over after being proven wrong, preaching to the choir.
Week of Oct 5th-11th
Venus sextiles her Pluto at the outset of the week, positive for her, then Mars squares Mercury on the 5th, providing some testy words. The week ends on a more positive note, but Neptune is stationary getting ready to go direct on Nov. 2nd, and conjuncting her sun, and we see her popularity polls plummeting.
What Happened: Alaska issued a report that she abused her position and power by firing the guy who refused to fire her ex brother-in-law. But it also said she was within her purview to do it, which is what the Republican party is clinging to. I almost feel sorry for her at this point....as long as she goes home to Alaska....She's a pawn in this whole process. Neptune conjuncting her sun, is dissolving her persona in the public eye.
Week of Sept 28th-Oct 4th
The v.p. debate comes up on the 2nd. Will it occur? Not too many aspects this week. Mars squares the Moon on Oct 2nd, the day of the debate; might make her more emotional and since Sun conjunct Mars in her chart, could trigger some Aries-type extemporaneous speech . Normally it's not a big transit, happens twice every 2 1/2 years, but it depends on what is going on. The fact she has Sun conjunct Mars conjunct Saturn in her natal chart, would tend to trigger that Aries quality. Mercury going retro on the 24th trined her sun, so that smoothed things over a bit. Coming up on November 2nd, Neptune is going to conjunct her sun as it goes direct..... so as Neptune comes to a stationary position and hovers over her sun as it prepares to change 'direction' it will tend to put a cloud over her sun, while Saturn opposing Uranus in the sky on the 11/4th will continue to pull the rug out from under.
What Happened: Mars moving in to square the moon, may have triggered the gaffe about Pakistan as it moved in. Her interview with Katie Couric didn't go well, not being able to cite another supreme court case besides Roe v. Wade, and wouldn't say what newspapers she reads to keep abreast of world affairs. Then she did appear for the debate, and conducted herself better than anticipated.....except her Aquarius/Aries combo decided she wasn't going to answer any of the questions she didn't like or didn't know. That's what the debate is all about, and she flew in the face of it. Then the next day she's told McCain has pulled out of Michigan and supposedly sends him an email that she wants to go there....bet they loved that.
Week of Sept 21st - 27th
A busy week. As Mercury goes retrograde, it trines her sun sign, some good communication, and Venus trines Saturn, usually a good day. Then as the week moves along, Mars trines the sun and itself, and Mercury follows suit...some assertive communication. At the end of the week, Mars trines Saturn, aggressive, conditional energy which seems to work for her.
What Happened: She was trotted out to 'meet' with heads of state. Spoke with Karzai on the name of his new baby, had 20 second video clip with Kissinger....just a photo op....ok, she's met with heads of state. I can see a political cartoon now....with wolves slobbering with names of Kissinger, Karzai, and the others on them, ready to devour Little Red Riding Hood should she become president. Then, she was in a pizza parlor and took a question with an answer that was opposite McCain's, and then had to be on with McCain and Katie Couric to try and fix it. Tina Fey did her second satire of Palin on Saturday Night Live, actually repeating things Palin said. Mars trining Saturn in this case, may have made her speak more quickly without Saturn's deliberation.
Week of Sept 14th - 20th
The week is sort of a mixed bag, The 3 musketeers start to break up, but in the process Venus trines the Sun and Mars and Saturn in succession by the end of the month. But on the 16th Saturn conjuncts Pluto. People born in the 40's and 50's know all about that, as Saturn has gone over their Pluto in Leo, and now it's going thru Virgo, meeting up with Pluto in Virgo for those born from 1957-1972, and right now for those born in the early 60's. Saturn and Pluto together don't play nice, and for Sarah, the Saturn-Uranus opposition forming in the sky, ticks off Pluto/Uranus opposing Chiron in her natal chart......some deep wounds of childhood are going to recycle themselves with new 'actors' in the roles. Then, by Nov first, Neptune is conjuncting her sun again as it goes direct.....why she is even the v.p. candidate when Neptune is dissolving her ego (sun) is odd.
What Happened: Chuck Hagel (R) said it was an insult to the American people to pick Palin...see Saturn and Pluto don't play nice....then Carly Fiorina says first she couldn't run a corporation, but then back tracked and said none of the 4 could....but that sent Carly packing. Then we had the tanning bed that turned in to "is she depressed?" is that the reason for the tanning bed. The she called it the "Palin-McCain administration" - freudian slip? Then, while she was up some 17+ percentage points amongst women voters, she dramatically dropped and is trailing now. ...and then there's "TrooperGate" which she said she would cooperate with the investigation, and now she isn't.
Week of Sept 7th - 13th
The three musketeers of Mercury, Venus and Mars hanging out in Libra together inconjunct her Chiron this week, digging at her wounds a bit, and then Saturn comes in to oppose Chiron on the 13th.....sure to rip off the scab.
What Happened: Sarah sat down with Charlie Gibson for her first interview, and was clearly not amused at some of his questions. Saturn is moving in to conjunct her Pluto on the 16th, and it shows in the way the comedians and SNL are hitting hard, much less the pundits and press, digging hard into her background.
Week of August 31st - Sept 6th -The sun conjuncts Uranus on the 31st and Pluto on sept 5th. That lends power, and opposes Chiron as well; there's wounding in her power placement. Saturn moves in to conjunct Pluto by the 16th. This is usually two power players playing roughshod in the sky.....but Saturn is her planet by virtue of the moon postion and Saturn conjuncting the Sun, so we'll see if she dishes it out or is the recipient.
What Happened: Sun with Uranus got the nomination, and then the conjunction with Pluto 6 days later saw the powers that be come to bear, and start dishing the heat. We'll see what happens by the 16th.
Week of August 24th - 30th - On the 29th, Sarah Palin emerges from relative obscurity to become John McCain's V.P. on the Republican ticket. On that day, nothing remarkable was happening...Mercury and Venus trined her Moon and opposed her Venus on the 28th and 29th....good news...but that good news? The sun was moving to conjunct Uranus on the 31st, so that would have helped...the two providing something sudden. And, since Pluto and Uranus are near each other natally, the sun will conjunct Saturn in the sky on the 3rd and then zoom on to conjunct Pluto on Sept 5th....Saturn itself won't get there til Sept 16th, but the energy is entangled. For those with strong Saturn/Capricorn energy, using it for power, that could lend credence. The interesting thing is that Neptune has been conjuncting her Sun all year and will do so again on Nov 2nd as it goes direct near election day. Neptune isn't good for attaining power and control and is an antithesis to Saturn energy....it's kind of surprising she even got the nomination. One might suspect Neptune will dissolve this whole scenario.
What Happened: Well, I pretty much covered that. Sarah Palin was named v.p. for the Republican ticket.
Joe Biden - born November 20, 1942 at 8:30 am in Scranton Pa. On August 23rd, as the sun moved into Virgo, he appears with Barack Obama in Springfield, Illinois and accepts his nod to be his vice presential nominee. On the 23rd, Mercury and Venus go over his midheaven and spend a month in his 10th house of career, and then both sextile Mercury (happy communication, while Mars trines Uranus (sudden opportunity to move forward) and the sun trines his moon.....lots of nice aspects to begin a new chapter in his life.
Week of Oct 26th-Nov. 2nd
Things get tighter as the Sun squares his Pluto on the 30th, but it does it every year. On Nov 15th Saturn went into his 10th house of career, or epitome of his profesional life, and rarely does it foresee ill for the recipient in cases such as these. It's interesting that he considers himself the head honcho and never took a subordinate role before, but his Sun/Venus/Mercury/Mars are in the 12th house, which often signifies the king maker not the king. Also, after a sustained period of time where the Master Yod point was bouncing off of Saturn, it's now reaching his Jupiter, which rules politics to begin with, is certainly more lucky than Saturn, and make life more fortunate for him.
What Happened:Everyone is just trying to get through the final week without any gaffes.
Week of Oct 19th-25th
The time is moving down to the election. Venus conjuncts his ascendant on the 21st and goes into his first house for the month. which brings him additional charm and magnetism, and then it trines Pluto on the 24th a sign of personal power. Venus even opposes his Saturn on the 26th which can lighten its effects.
What Happened:Somewhere he states that Obama will be tested by other countries in the first 6 months but they'll find he has a spine of steel, paraphrasing. Sarah jumps on that but who's she to talk? Venus in his first house all month should bring him even more charism and sex appeal.
Week of Oct 12th-18th
Mars squares Pluto on the 14th, something riles him. Venus conjuncts his Sun on the 16th, sure to bring him some accolades. In fact, then it conjuncts itself on the 7th, as the 2 conjunct in his chart, giving him that charm.
What Happened:Joe is kind of in the background here; doing his thing, backing Obama.
Week of Oct 5th - 11th
Only 3 minor aspects this week. Neptune is moving in to Square Mercury as it goes direct on November 2nd, which glosses over communication..
What Happened:He took two days away from the campaign to attend his mother in law's funeral.
Week of Sept 28th -Oct 4th
This week the sun sextiles Biden's Pluto and trines his Saturn, giving him some positive power. Venus squares Pluto and then conjuncts Mars, so it's like a warm energy smoothing over ruffled feathers. The sun trines Saturn on the 2nd, showing those in power approve.
What Happened: The VP debate occurred and Biden acquitted himself well. No gaffes, refused to engage in Palin's trying to bait him, and choked up for a second remembering losing his first wife and daughter and not knowing if his little boys were going to make it......which was ignored by mama of 5 Palin.
Week of Sept 21st - 27th
The sun trines Uranus while Venus inconjuncts it, so something they didn't plan on can work in their favor. The sun also conjuncts his Neptune, but that happens every year at this time; not a day to sign a contract. As Saturn moves to oppose Uranus in the sky on November 4th, it doesn't aspect any of his planets during the next couple of months. Which is good. The opposition will occur from the 4th with Uranus, to the 10th with Saturn, and while Uranus causes a little earthquake in his foundation/roots, Saturn going in to the 10th solar house, it's 'own' house is usually auspicious.
What Happened: Biden has been accussed of gaffes in the last couple of weeks, but no one seems to say what they were. He was concerned about one of the Obama ads, and then tried to extricate himself.
Week of Sept 14th - 20th
Sun sextiles Jupiter and his sun in Sag, and Venus squares Jupiter, all rather benign.
What Happened: Joe got some air time this week, hitting hard at the McCain campaign.
Week of Sept 7th - 13th
Not much going on this week. Venus trines his Saturn on the 7th, Sunday, which is good for judgment working for him. Saturn sextiles Mars, still not great for sports, since Saturn rules bones and Mars rules muscles, and they tend to do weird things under S/M transits, but this is a sextile so there's justifiable anger.
What Happened: Joe seems to be working behind the scenes, getting ready for the debate. He did suggest in a speech that maybe Hillary would have been the better vp choice.
Week of August 31st - Sept 6th - Lots of transits this week. Mercury and Venus trine his Uranus on the 31st and 1st respectively, providing some nice openings for advancement. Then they sextile his ascendant. Venus moves in to conjunct Neptune on the 31st, which could be a romantic evening if all goes well. On the 2nd, Sun squares Saturn and causes the first real stress of the campaign. Joe's Saturn is at 9/56 of Gemini. The sun is moving right along and conjuncts Saturn in the sky on the 3rd at 11 degrees, so the Saturn square to its natal self is still in effect. This could provide some flak. but then Jupiter sextiles Mars, as it goes direct giving it an extra push. Then at the end of the week Mars trines Saturn and on its heels, Merc and Venus do as well. A nice stellium in Libra trining his Saturn. Of course, all these sextiles creates minor Yods, so we'll see how it plays out.
What Happened:- Well, we can't tell what might have occurred with the Republican convention taking the spotlight, and the Dems strategizing behind the scenes. Are they excited to debate Palin or not???
Week of August 24th-30th - On the 25th, the sun squares his Uranus, so something may be revealed from his past, and on the 26th the sun, also traversing his 10th house of career, squares his ascendant, usually a minor transit. For the rest of the week we have lots of sextiles (opportunities), Venus sextiles Jupiter on the 26th, while Mercury sextiles the sun and Venus on the 28th, and Venus matches it on the 28th and 29th. Mercury conjuncts Neptune on the 30th, indicating a little spin doctoring, maybe, bur Mars also sextiles Pluto on the 30th, so an angry retort may ensue.
What Happened:- well, if any of that happened, it was behind the scenes. So far, things are going swimmingly for him on the surface.
