Presidential aspirant, Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Star IQ website says the time is 1:06 pm. It gives him a Leo sun, Gemini moon with Scorpio rising. I've said many times, because I have Venus in Leo, I love Leos, and there are some aspects of Obama I like.....but there's something that turns me off. The most obvious thing is that his Pluto, at 6 degrees of Virgo, sits on my sun sign, and that indicates someone who would tend to have 'power over' me, and want to intimidate me, if we knew each other personally. And, I, with Aquarius rising and a need to be unfettered and free, I just don't like the oppressive feeling I get.
His sun in Leo, shines in the 9th house, which is the house of law and politics, while his Pluto is in the 10th house of career. That usually means a father who was powerful, and that natives with this position are more successful far from home.
Saturn in Capricorn rules a very heavy hand in this chart, it trines the moon and Mars - creating a grand trine - but opposes Mercury (judgemental communication) conjuncted Jupiter ( sits on expansion and luck), inconjuncts Uranus (tries to squash independence), and nearly inconjuncts Pluto (power shifts).It is also the first planet from the ascendant, if this time is accurate, so gives him that serious visage and judgemental over things that he should lighten up about.
The moon squares his Pluto, which says he probably had a strong, dominant mother, but since this time may or may not be right, I don't want to speculate on it at this point.
The YOD point from Neptune sextile Pluto, which started in the 5th house at birth, moved over his Venus in Cancer in around 96-98, so that's where he gets his charm and appeal by the populace. Venus is Him in the chart (as opposed to the sun representing father, the moon representing mother, Mercury representing siblings, as well as the masculine and feminine aspects of himself)....but Venus is the native in the chart, and represents the charm, harmony and magnetic attraction. So, his energy has had the benefit of this for the last 10 years or less, and soon it's going to go over Mercury at 1 of Leo, by 2010 approximatelly, and the energy will change. Right now, it's losing the intensity of Venus as Mercury pulls it in.
In 1968, when he was approximately 7, Pluto and Uranus straddled each side of his natal Mars at 22 of Virgo. That was undoubtedly a very stressful time for him.
Pluto is currently going thru his 2nd house of money and values. Uranus is about to leave the 4th, which shook up his foundation in the last 8 years, and now Neptune is moving in to it, perhaps creating a feeling of his foundation built on structure cracking and needing to build a foundation of faith. Saturn is going thru his 10th house of career, meeting up with Pluto on November 7th, then Jan 31st of 2008, and opposes Chiron, the wounding, on Feb 22nd, and Pluto again on July 25th of 2008. In the meantime, Pluto moves in to oppose Venus on Apr 2nd, recycling events around 1973, when he was 22. Pluto harshly aspecting Venus in youth can be upsetting.
Born in the month of the Dragon (as it relates to the 5 element meridian system), Barack has a natural need to charm and be charming, to entertain and make people smile, to love the adulation of the crowd and being in the center of the spotlight. The Dragon has needs and desires that can be huge and need to be kept filled. He may like to accumulate things just to 'have' them. In the extreme, Dragons can have obsessive-compulsive issues.
Born in the Hour and minute of the Sheep, if this be true, is a dicey combination. Sheep need to associate with the right people, as he will be known by 'the friends he keeps'. The Sheep is the animal archetype for the Small Intestine meridian. The small intestine gets the food at that point as it processes thru the body, and it decides what is healthy and should go back thru the system, and what is not, and should be eliminated. Thus, it needs to be working correctly, so that Sheep people want greasy and fatty stuff and eschew spinach and apples when it has that option. So too, do Sheep people need to make this distinction. They have a valuable commodity in their wool, their talents, which they can take to market over and over; they just need to be aware that they keep the proceeds for themselves and not get fleeced. Sometimes there is a tendency to be a Wolf in Sheep's clothing - sometimes this is the native, and sometimes others act that way towards them. Sheep need to be careful not to be vicimized and run with the herd, but be a maverick Sheep who leads them.
Currently Pluto, which is full of power and need for domination, is in the Monkey/Bladder part of his chart, which is also in Sag on the western chart. That's like a triple Monkey. Monkeys are all about control and overriding that which doesn't fit his view of life. With Pluto there, there is a strong need for power and control. Saturn, as it leaves Leo.....which is strange that for all the angst Saturn afforded to Leos the past two years, Obama has largely rode the wave over and thru it without much problem - has been going thru the 10th house in the Dragon area where it will meet Pluto shortly and go back and forth over it 3 times in the next year (see dates above). With Pluto in the Dragon area, he has a strong appetite for power.
If you'll notice, Saturn traversed Leo for the previous 2 1/2 years, where the chickens came home to roost. At the same time, your Leo friends have been far more stident and controlling in the past few years. With Pluto going thru the Monkey part of the chart, the need to over ride and control.....and be in denial, has been strong. Now, your Virgo friends are beginning to dig in their heels as Leos are reaching the end....or at least in the middle, depending on when their birthdate is.
Neptune is hiding in the 12th house in the Horse area on the Chinese overlay. The Horse represents the heart and the brain, and would indicate that while it isn't being aspected now, it is always part of the Nep/Pluto master YOD, and Neptune tends to dissolve whereever it is and would say that any heart issues could slip by the radar and not be seen til it's almost too late.
If he became the democratic nominee, I wouldn't be loathe to vote for him, and it may be because of Pluto sitting on my sun principally, but his chart doesn't win me over, either. | |||
