Will Hillary Clinton become the first woman president????? I'm not so sure. Aries is the pioneer, Aries energy wants to be first. Geraldine Ferraro, the first female vice presidential candidate, is an Aries. Nancy Pelosi, the first woman Speaker of the House, is an Aries. Hillary has no Aries in her chart. She does have Mars, Aries planetary ruler, as the first planet from the ascendant, moving in on Pluto and Saturn. Because of this placement, it's also the 'destiny' planet, being the planet behind Pluto. So, if we tweak it and twist it and smush it, maybe we can talk ourselves into the possibility that she may become president. But, if it has to be Aries......Aries is only half of her 10th house in this chart, should it be accurate.....If Hillary was born a few hours later, where Aries would be the cusp of the 10th house (and push the Moon into Aries as well) with Mars conjuncting Pluto/Saturn.....that would give it more credence. Can she do it with Aries only 1/2 of the 10th house - even if it is the second half which would represent the 2nd half of her life - ? I'm not sure.
Hillary was born on October 26, 1947 at 8:00 pm, CST, in Chicago Illinois. She has a Scorpio sun, a late, late Pisces Moon, and late late Gemini ascendant. Uranus is on her ascendant. It's always suspect when the time of birth is like this one - 8:00 pm. So we might look at her moon being earlier in Pisces...or maybe, more appropriately, in Aries. With late Gemini rising*, she's really a Cancer rising with a splash of Gem; but, because Uranus is on the ascendant, it heightens the Gemini, and gives her a quicker, facile, inventive mind, that 's forward looking, and someone who wants life to be an adventure. Boring is not her cup of tea. She certainly wants to break precedent, and do what no other woman has done before. ** The first planets from her ascendant happen to be Mars, Pluto and Saturn conjunct in Leo in the 3rd house. Mars is a detonator for Pluto/Saturn. The power and control signified by P/S is exacerbated by Mars. There are some with this configuration that have it under control, but by overlapping Chinese astrology over the chart, we find that it's in the area of the Rat/Gall bladder for her, which indicates rage and a hair trigger temper. Others of her era who have this combo associated with the Chinese in a more neutral place, will not experience this as strongly. These are people who are on a 'need to know' basis, for they erupt over the tiniest thing that doesn't please them. Plus, being basically Cancer rising, she's ultra sensitive, and doesn't want to be found wrong. She's certainly good at projecting a good front, for she's not known for her temper, except I've heard rumors of behind the scenes acrimony. Neptune is in Hillary's 4th house. Neptune is oozy and gauzy and is not good in the foundation of the chart. The 4th house is like the roots that go into the soil and the trunk of the tree, and the other houses are the branches and the leaves - whatever reposes here has a lot to do with life's destiny. Neptune in the 4th can say that Hillary loves the water, enjoys the intrigue of 'behind the scenes' machinations and has a transcendental nature. It also shows that her roots need to be shored up periodically, and she feels lost at sea at times. This 4th house represents her mother, who could have been very esoteric, or may have had a problem with spirits. The 5th house represents children in general and the first child in particular; in this case, Chelsea fits the bill for both. So many planets are in this 5th, one can see how Chelsea is so important in Hillary's life. One wonders though, if she loves kids so much and works to improve their lives, that she only had one. But, here we have the Sun, Chiron, Venus, Mercury and the south node in Scorpio with Jupiter in Sag. Wherever Venus and Jupiter reside is where the person has luck and harmony, in most cases, and shows how close the two of them are. It's obviously from where her interest in children is derived. The moon in her 10th house shows that her mother was the most important parent in her life. Since the moon is ostensibly in Pisces and the ruler of Pisces is Neptune in the 4th, it shows a double connotation of the effect of her mother in her life. Uranus, again, is in the 12th, hiding out, but because it is so close to the ascendant, it's almost like she has Aquarius rising; it certainly adds a depth and breadth of vision to the Gemini energy, for Gem tends to be the every day intellect, while Aquarius and Uranus are it's higher octave, and show the mind from a higher perspective. Hillary has times when ideas just pop into her mind as if from nowhere, and gives her inspiration. The Mars/Saturn/Pluto combo squares Hillary's Venus and Mercury and planets in Leo in general. It adds an intensity to this latter group, and can create a powerful, almost manipulative quality of communication (Mercury); a sexy but jealous aspect to Venus can create problems....in love affairs, but also marriage.
Currently, if this chart is close to being accurate, Pluto is moving into her 7th house by 2008. That could indicate a royal power struggle with Bill, and perhaps they'll break up during the next 12 years....and her Plutonian power will have to keep her warm at night. Uranus is moving thru the 10th house of career, and that can upset the apple cart, and dump the native out of a comfy rut, and cause her to seek her true calling.....or it can expose something that might undo her. The Master YOD point from Neptune sextile Pluto is pointing at the end of Cancer, and has moved into her 2nd house of money, leaving the 1st house of self...maybe her time has passed.....however, it is moving in to trigger the Mars/Pluto/Saturn cocktail....but it's at least 6-7 years away. I used to be a Hillary fan-with-reservations...now I'm neutral and just reading the chart from an objective point of view.
From a Chinese Astrology perspective, Hillary was born in the Year of the Boar, the month of the Sheep, the Hour of the Dragon and the minute of the Dog. The Boar is like Eyeore from "Winnie the Pooh" - oh, woe is me, life is hard. It also talks about depression and the need to have people around who supports them in seeing the positive. The Boar hates humiliation and ridicule, and Hillary certainly had to deal with that in her husband's presidency (oops! I almost said 'her' presidency!). Being that her first house is split between the Dog and the Boar energy (the Boar being second) indicating that the last third of her life will be filled with more possible depression and heavy energy. The Sheep is the corresponding Chinese animal to Scorpio. The Sheep moves in ...packs? Is that a good word for sheep??? Pluto is the mass populace being the furthest planet out there which affects us. The Sheep needs to be a maverick sheep and pull out of the 'pack' and become it's leader rather than it's follower. There's an element of Victim/Victor energy in this sign, and we can see Scorpios that are victims as well as victors in life. Born in the hour of the Dragon, this helps her to appear before the cameras and enjoy the adulation. The Dragon also needs to acquire things simply to have them; and with the $8,000,000 for her book advance, she has enough to acquire what she wants now (wouldn't that have been nice for my book to get an $8 million advance!). What tell tale sign might make this the correct time, is that it puts the Horse/Heart meridian over the 7th house of marriage, and Bill had his heart problems. Her achilles heel is the time she was born. In this case, the Dog. The Dog is rather reserved; can have intimacy problems. Usually has cold hands and feet. The Dog can either be the loveable loyal dog, or it can be territorial and bark and scare people away. One would surmise Hillary has some of the latter. The Dog has a mental concept about sex; they are far more cerebral about it than passionate...it tempers all her Scorpio planets. It overlaps over Gemini rising and Uranus on the ascendant, which is very mental.....metal/mental/air signs don't mesh with watery/emotional/Scorpio. She probably is a typical water/air person.....most times she's logical, linear and objective....but push an emotional button and she'll be 'gone' on an emotional outburst. (During Bill's presidential years, there was an aspect which focused on the Dog energy for all Scorpios. Where they used to dominate by pressing for sex, in this time frame, they dominated by witholding sex. It was a time when Hillary could probably have cared less what Bill was up to; "let someone else do it and leave me alone to focus on the power I want", might have been her mindset. I don't think she cared a damn whether he had sexual encounters with Monica Lewinsky....what she did care about was it being found out, and what's more, compromising the presidency and causing her humiliation....and creating a blight on her ambition and power for the highest office. A Scorpio is usually highly sexed, but with Uranus and the Dog energy on her ascendant, it may have tempered it greatly, so that she put that libido into her political ambition.
In the race for the presidency, Hillary has her Saturn return this year.....Saturn has been around her chart twice now. It's a time where she really feels she has to go for broke; that it's now or never. And in reality, would we vote for a woman near 70 in 8 years, if it goes that far? It's also her second Chiron square, bringing up the wound. Hillary has Chiron in Scorpio between the Sun and Venus; early in her life there was some deep wounding that is being recycled to be examined. She will feel the same dynamics and interaction she did then. On the up side, she has Uranus trining Venus this year, which will keep her up in the polls and being the darling of the populace.
The telling point is going to be the Master Yod (Neptune sextile Pluto) at birth, being sesquiquadrated by their own planet for those born in the middle to late 1940's. If this one bears out, I don't think any candidate born from '46 on til '50 is going to make it, or it will be like Sydney Omarr said about Nixon's potential election on Merv Griffin's show so long ago, "the winner will be the loser" because of the aspects in the United States' chart at the time. Right now, Pluto is sesqui'ing itself, and she's feeling powerful. Neptune isn't going to sesquiquadrate itself til 2009, but it's moving in. This aspect makes you start out feeling powerful, and then pulls the rug out from under. Only time will tell

It was originally an "A" date, but since then other times have come forward (isn't that just like a Scorpio to keep things secret?), and then became So, we don't have an accurate time of birth for Hillary. Isn't that just like a Scorpio???....but then, I don't think the one that is 'official' for Bill is correct either. When you try and fit a square peg in a round hole, you can make a case for 8:00 pm. With this chart, she has Uranus rising on the ascendant.....well, yes, she does seem to have a global outlook, and her book, "It takes a Village" is certainly in keeping with that. Plus her Scorpio planets are in the 5th house of children, and children have been her focus at times in her life. Yet, she only has one child. But, I think two telling points that this might not be accurate are.....1) the planets are mostly below the horizon, indicating a person who prefers to seek out the meaning of life and a career isn't particularly their thing...and 2) the power of Saturn/Pluto/Mars is more or less lost in the 3rd house. They are in Leo, of course, and Leo is on the cusp of this 3rd house, which would then say to look at the 5th house and the sun...and the sun is in the 5th house...so her power thrust would be in this arena of children and creativity. Maybe she would be a writer as her focal point, not her avocation as in the writing of "It Takes a Village".
**Thinking about Women being First, Billie Jean King came to mind. Is she an Aries? She pioneered women's tennis.....I looked up her chart. Billie Jean was born on November 22, 1943, at 11:45 AM PWT in Long Beach, California. No, she doesn't have Aries planets. What she does have is late, late, Capricorn rising at 27 degrees, which gives her basically Aquarius Rising with structure. Her Mars is in Gemini, between Uranus and Saturn. Mars rules sports, and Uranus is the planet behind it, moving in on it after birth, triggering the independent, pioneering, break the glass ceiling mentality. So, if we look at that, and Hillary has Uranus on the ascendant (which would be like Aquarius Rising) and being the planet behind Mars, egging it on.....well?????.....maybe????? copyright 2007 Pamela Leigh Powers |
