Considering the short list for the vice presidential spot, Joe Biden is the best choice for me. I would have liked to have seen him as president, but destiny had other ideas.

If we look at his chart, it makes sense. Mark Lerner has given the time of 8:30 am EWT, which gves him Sag rising, hiding the Scorpio planets in the 12th house. As a Scorpio with 3 other planets in Scorpio, oratory would not normally be one of his things. But, with Sag rising, he is more open and charming, and yes, Sag can open mouth and insert foot without realizing it, being guileless in their intent. However, with Scorpio backing up that Sag, one wonders how unintentional some of those statements really are.

It's good to have a Scorpio on board, because the Plutonian sign is all about domination, power and control, which is prominent in the majority of the leaders around the world, and Scorpios just think differently than the other 11 signs. We need a Scorpio in the White House to think how they think. One site has rectified Obama's chart to 1:30 pm which would give him Scorpio rising.....but his birth certificate, if it be accurate, says 7:24 pm - 1:30 pm would be better.

I'm a Virgo and Virgos don't normally get along well with Scorpio/Sags, but I would marry him in a second. My Leo Venus would match up with his Sag rising (it trines in fire) and our moons conjunct. Seems like there should be other connections, tho.

The planet behind Pluto is Jupiter, which rules politics, and to me, it's the 'destiny planet' in a chart. Being drawn in to Pluto at birth, it gives Jupiter power and focus. Right now, the Master Yod of Neptune sextile Pluto, is pointing at the last degrees of Cancer, so where the point has been bouncing off of Saturn for many years now, since the 80's, making things harder and more arduous, now that it's moving over Jupiter at 25 degrees of Cancer, triggering his destiny planet, life will be a lot lighter and more prosperous. They say, of 100 senators, Biden is 99th in wealth....that's going to change. ....I guess that doesn't necessarily mean he's selling shoes to make the rent, but of all the senators with a lot of wealth, like Dianne Feinstein, Biden is near the bottom.

At birth, his Taurus moon squared his natal Pluto, which usually indicates an intense childhood if nothing else, or a powerful mother. Particularly with the moon in the Monkey/Bladder area of the Chinese chart, this woman is obviously strong.

It's odd to look at the western chart, and see the 4 Scorpio planets...being center stage enjoying the limelight would not be something you would ordinarily see with Scorpios....which is why synthesizing the western chart with the Chinese chart reveals more. Take the Scorpio planets and see them as supporting the fire Sag rising, bringing him more out into the world, and then having that rising in the Dragon section of the Chinese chart (and in relation to the 5 elements and acupuncture, the Dragon correlates to Leo) one can see how he revels in the spotlight.

Biden has a great grand trine with Jupiter at 25 of Cancer, trining the Sun and Venus in Scorpio as 27 and 28 degrees Scorpio, and Ceres in Pisces. So this power point of the Master yod moving in on Jupiter (ruling politics and foreign locales) is also trining his Scorpio planets.

Obama is a Leo and Joe, for all intent and purposes is a Sag, so the fire signs match, and in their composite chart, they have early Capricorn rising, so Pluto is moving in on the composite ascendant, making them a powerful duo.

Currently, Pluto has moved into his second house of money, and being VP will increase his income. Jupiter has led the way, planting seeds. Uranus has been flirting with his 4th house cusp this year, creating change....sometimes suddenly. Saturn is in the 9th house, moving in on the 10th shortly. Saturn causes stress and challenge, but the 10th is also its home house so its comfortable there....he just has to keep his nose to the grindstone and work for it.

As 2008 moves in to the fall and the election as I write this (8/08) Saturn will move in to oppose Uranus in the sky for us all in the coming year, and will be in Biden's 10-4 houses....Uranus providing the impetus for change in his roots and foundation, while Saturn wants disciplne and control in the workplace.

Surely, no one runs for president to become vice president, but failing to get the nod for higher office, this is still an honor. And, it would seem, since Cheney led the way for the vp to play a more important part in the administration, this veep can be a force to be reckoned with in foreign affairs. Why not make him Secretary of State as well?

Chinese Astrology: Born in the Year of the Horse, month of the Sheep/Monkey, the hour of the Dragon and the minute of the Sheep. Born in the Year of the Horse, he will wear his heart on his sleeve and works well in harness with someone else, even tho some question that. Being a late Scorpio with Sag rising, the Sag/Monkey energy is stronger, which is shown in his loquacious style....Scorpios don't do that. The Monkey has a certain view of the world that will not be assailed. Born in the hour of the Dragon, he likes the spotlight, likes to entertain and be seen as a political animal, in this instance. Born in the minute of the Sheep, he needs to be sure he isn't 'fleeced', but his coat of wool (talents) are used for his own benefit.
